Soopa's SEMA Update (Part 1)
First of all... SEMA IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SHORTAGE OF EVERY NEW CAR OUT THERE.
There must be anywhere from 1000-1500 new Z's on the floor here. Its nuts.
Theres easily over 100 Murcielago's.
But first things first... very interesting news... The SEMA CL Body Kit is JUST A BOLT ON KIT. The car has a completely stock body... the urethane panels simply bolt to the underbody and fits nice and tightly against the car. Until you look closely it really appears as if the car has completely new sheet metal.
The car also doesn't have the 2001-02 Fog Lights... they are the same housing but have a larger... higher wattage... YELLOW bulb. They look like the foglight bulbs youll see in a Lexus.
I took probably 50 5.0 megapixel shots of the CL and the Accord. So anything you want to see... youll see. Unfortunately the peon's at the H/A booth were not allowed and did not have a key to open the hood of the CL or turn it on.
The CL was getting A TON of attention... the kit/wheels really set it apart. If Acura was to do something like this stock I trully believe they would score some new sales.
Oh, also interesting... the CL has Maya 19x9's wrapped in 245/35's... from visual inspection they appear to fit under the fenders pretty well. No clue on the offset of the wheels tho.
Now apart from H/A.... theres a TON to see... I took about 300 pictures today and only covered 1/4 of ONE of the 5 Hall's.
Tomorrow I will take over 1000 pictures easily.
If anybody wants shots of something in particular put in your requests.

i have every possible picture and angle of the kit that could be had.
the only thing i didnt do was get under the car to take pictures of bolting positions and shit.

BTW, when i was talking with the Honda guy(mean looking white dude, but really nice when u talk to him) he told me that the CL-S kit is one off custom and none of the special kit stuff is something that will ever be available, but they made those things just to give the aftermarket ideas and is hoping that someone does get a kit out that is similar to what they had on their CL-S for the last 3 shows now.
Soopa, not sure if u got to look under the hood of the White CL-S, they had the 6 speed Comptech SC AND the Comptech STRUT BAR. I snapped a few shots and i'll post them later when im not so tired.
BTW if ur bored, i believe Maurice(v6momoney, founder of www.accordv6.com) is there and im sure he'd be glad to meet with you. His number there is 800-634-6118 rm 627 (you may have to ask for a different number once u call them, that number is for reservations.
BTW i also talked to Hotchkis and i was told that they will start a whole line of stuff for the Accord V6, stuff including camber plates, sways, etc.

anyway, my opinion: I think the 2001 SEMA CL is better, only cuz of the wheels. Those Mayas are replicas of DTM trafficstars (Altstadt), but the old one, man, no one could identify those... they were NICE!
and as for getting a replica kit with copyright precaution: i'd make the EXACT same kit, except ditch the gills in the front bumper and make it smooth. There ya go.
