choices with Accords

okay guys I need opinions I have 30 grand to put toward my next ride when i get it
I got 2 choices when I go to get my Accord
#1 4-cylinder Accord EX coupe with stick
then customize it(cause dad works for honda and i can get it out the door 22,000 bucks with tax title ready to roll)
then put Neuspeed headers(400 bucks)
18 inch TSW wheels (2000 bucks)
a exhast system(600 bucks)
Toyos tires (1000 bucks)
DVD/Navigation/sweet Eclipse system(4000 bucks)

OR

#2. v-6 Accord EX
25000 bucks out the door with dad's discount
then put 18 inch TSW 2000 bucks
toyos 1000
Prototype headers (whenever they come out ) 1000 bucks
exhast system 500 bucks
then installation for this stuff

it about cost the same for both options
basically with option 1 i got the small motor but wicked system
option 2 I got the motor but no tunes.

I suspect these will be '03 models...and I'm also assuming you're getting both in manual.

I would get the V6 because from what I remember the suspension is also beefier. Plus you can always add tunes later.

Is it that you have $30k cash and don't want to finance anything? Cause I'd be looking at $40k - $50k cars. $30k down and finance $10k - $20k.

No guys he says he gets a great discount at the HONDA dealership because his dad works there. He can't get an Acura TL-S or CL-S out the door for less than 30,000.

If you have 30,000 and your dad works at Honda then did the S2000 come to mind??

I would pick the V6 Accord over the 4cyl. I get my 03 V6 Accord coupe on Nov 7th. Good Luck with whatever car you choose!

also if your spending 3 grand on 18's your on crack, i have giovanna g-racing 18's with nitto 555's and i spent 1500. but i'd go v6, spend the 1600 on rims, spend 2k on the system, then lower it and do intake and exhaust. your set right there

All i want to say is i saw both the coupe and sedan of the new accord on the road today, and contrary to what most other people here say, i think that thing is BUTT ugly. But if you insist i would get the V6.

Zapata, your on a roll there!

Get the NAVI, then get the DVD conversion and retool the factory system with amps and speakers.

Looking at the new accord it is going to be difficult to add aftermarket stereos because the factory stereo and AC is all incorporated into one unit in the middle. Keep your ride looking stock and impress those that are riding with you!

I don't concider 30 grand wacked for a nice honda guys
you guys have 35,40 maybe even 50 grand in your Acuras.
only thing is everytime i get a new ride I get a new system in it. so if I don't have a new Eclipse system in it it won't feel right. and my system I got now is like 3 years old now and if I wait till i get will probably be about 6 years old so It will be due for a new system.(I had a friend with Cerwin Vega Strokers he replaced his subs every year (honest to god)
now about the dubs the 18 inch TSW revos everywhere I look their between 450 or 500 bucks a piece.(and I've looked about 5-6 places so I don't think their all ripping me off)

the reason I don't want a S2000 is i'm 6 ft 4 300 lbs(any questions) by the way I don't like the new Z(it's not a Honda
) you put 200,000 on a Accord you get kind of fond of Honda.
the main reason I'm not thinking about a CL is for 2 reasons (no offence to you guys its a cool car) (dad talked me out of it)(yes he can get discounts on it)
#1. Dealers are like another 45 mins or hour away.(i can take it to the Honda service center at Honda of america in Anna but their booked out about a month or month and half in advance so if your car isn't in deathly need of something it's okay but it gotta get done quick you gotta drive a hour or hour and half).
#2. He said your paying like 3000 bucks for 20 HP(from a new V-6 accord to a CL-S)(from his discount on a CL-S no navigation to V-6 Accord EX)
#3. I Hate leather. i rode in my brother in law's Mustang(before he sold it) which had leather and he took AWESOME AWESOME care of it(he'd put what i call "seat dressing" on it atleast once a week) we'd go around the corner a little fast and you'd slide. and I want to stay solid if i'm driving.

Hater!!!

30K on a car... Why not the CL??? People here have been getting them for under 30K for the 6spd.

I can understand taking advantage of a family disocunt, but 25K for a V6 Accord doesn't sound all that great to me with a discount. Spend the extra money, get the 6spd CL and enjoy. So you can't get your 18" wheels right away... Just wait a few more months, that's all. Regardless of all the refinements for the '03 Accord, if I had the choice I'd get the CL even if I could take advantage of a Honda employee discount.

if he is actually talking about the 03 v6, then you cannot get headers for it. The exhaust manifold is a 1 peice design with the block.

Either way, i'd get the V6 Manual Coupe. and the rims you picked are way overpriced. You can get a super set of Volks for about 2800 with tires.

Unfortunantly you won't walk out of the dealer w/ a 350Z TRACK MODEL. You might be able to walk out with the performance model. 35G's for the Track model and they are not negotiating.

What do you mean 25,000 dollars is not a good deal for the new Accord V6?? That price is out the door, not starting price. The invoice on the EX V6 is 23,770. He got that price and then Tax,title, licence and that came out to 25,000! Hell of a deal. And no way could you get a CL-S 6-speed "out the door" for 30,000. After tax, title, licence you will be around 31-32K. 7,000 more dollars for a CL-S 6-Speed and it just has 20HP more and memory seats. Not worth it to me. The new Accord V6 has dual climate control which the acura does not even have. Get the Accord V6!

shit, really dual climate control. Man i was thinking the same thing, its just so hard to close the airflow on one side of the car. Especially in a coup, that is soo important.

BTW its not just the 20 hp, its the handling, original look, and the fact that not everyone and their mother will have one. If you have a cl now u can just transfer some of the mods.

I would rather have a 03 Accord V6 w/$7,000 in my pocket vs a CL-S w/no money left. I guarantee the CL-S is no faster than the new Accord V6 and if you have any doubts then the extra 7,000 bucks that this guy will have can change all of that.

Intake/Exhaust/Comptech Supercharger/Suspension and Lightweight Wheels and Performance Tires and the CL-S will be no more.

Get the Accord V6!!

Ur a smart man my friend jagv12...alot of people do not know yet that the new accord's header manifold is one piece and thus can't be removed/replaced/upgraded

I wonder if we'll ever see upgraded headers on th new accord

Also, the new accord weighs abt 100lbs less the 6speed CL I believe...ur right, get some sticky 17s coupled 2 leightweight rims, and ur set

im sorry but for the love of god, you get MORE than just 20 hp with a CL over the new accord...how about HID headlights for one....how about the fact that you ARENT DRIVING AN ECONOMY CAR AKA HONDA....how about the fact that you get WAAY better service (i.e. free loaner cars, free towing, Total Luxury Care) how about the fact that the warranty is way better.....i dunno, this guy seems to listen to his dad WAAAY too much.....the look and feel of the CL-S is sooooo much more upscale than a honda accord...its an Acura....sure honda and Acura are similar but its an ACURA....an Acura gets WAAAAAY more respect than a frickin honduh....i think this is a dumb question, there IS no question, CL-S 6 speed all the way...the accord may have a better navigation, dual climate controls, etc but its still a lowly honduh.

I think the 10hp and 10lb/ft is pure BS.. If it truly made 250hp, they would list that - probably with an asterisk next to the figure saying premuim fuel needed.

It makes 240hp....

Show me some dyno's that show 195+whp or so, and then I'll believe it...

I do think that the new Accord is a great car. But the CL is a better car hands down.

But if you can get a good deal on the V6 Accord, then go for it. You'll have the most common car on the road!!!

GET option one. When I went shopping for an accord before I bought the cl, the v-6 only came in auto. You need a manual if ur making a project car, unless u decide on changeing the tranny as one of ur mods.

ATTENTION!

IF YOU ARE GONNA SPEND 30k, GET THE CL-S.....I got mine with the navi and spoiler installed for a total of $30,900, plus taxes. What's a $1000 when you are going from an accord to a CL-S?

that's depressing you can't do header mods on the new v-6 accord. I might just got 4-cylinder if honda screwing people who want to mod their cars . I know it's all about cost and fuel mileage but still I'd be a lot happier if they would have made the OEM headers bolt on. .

I got a idea(this sounds wild I know) this would be a wild setup
find a Accord 4 cylinder 5 speed. and swap in a RSX type S motor. (I know your saying why don't you get a RSX) cause their too small for me. personally I want high output 4-cylinder. Dad said their suppose to be coming out with a Accord type S or Accord Si.(which he said they don't know if it's going to be a 4 or 6 cylinder). personally I think it will be a 4 cylinder(they will take a RSX or RSX type S motor and drop it in) cause right now with the Accord v-6 their cranking 240 hp if they put the CL-S motor in their they're shooting themselfs in the foot cause that will make the CL-S and the Accord too close far as motor wise
if that Accord Si comes out that's going to be my ticket. cause I want some more power out of a 4. but I don't want the 6. (gas mileage, insurance, and plus the deal with the headers:P )

Dude, you will kick yourself in the ass if you realize you got a 4 banger instead of a 240hp power house.

Get the new accord, and mod it later... whats the fun in modding it all in the same time? Take your time with modding.. its more fun that way. IMO

If you really want to mod soo bad, and like speed... then get your ass in a 350z.... now thats what i would do with 30k.

dude, ur call

The 2.4Cyl will have mad mods out for it w/in 2yrs (i.e. headers, exhausts, intake, hondata ecu, turbo etc.) If u really want a car w/ potential, I'd take the 4cly and mod it b/c the car weighs less than a v6 and modding it won't be as expensive as a v6
