dont know if this should be o/t but, today on my way home from augusta acura, i was on the hwy following a girl in a gallant, well we were going 90-105, for 10-30 miles, a green maxima joined in also, well i am pretty close to her bumper cause the chick could drive her a** off, well we come down a small hill and sudenly she switches to the right lane, at the same time my whistler 1490 goes off saying pulse(it does this when cop uses instant on, does v1 do that?) about 1/2 miles away a state trooper is in middle of hwy facing us in between trees, well i pased him at at 90 limit was 70, i could not slow down more b/c that maxima was behind me, i look the trooper in his face and read his lips and he says a**hole, so my heart is pumping kool aid at this point. i watch him in my rearview and he put his foot on his brakes but never came out, there was a lot of cars behind us, well when i got to a point were i was around the corner i floored it and drove 2 miles to the next exit and got off, well the whistler wich has saved me many times b4, but would the v1 have done any better, the reason i say he must have not clocked me b/c of what he said when i looked at him, and he never came after me, i think my speeding days on long ditance trips is over

The V1 would give you a beep long before then... I guess the patrole dude probably did clock you, but I guess he couldn't do anything cuz a you weren't the only speeder.
... I do have to say one thing about the V1.. I now believe it has a range beyond what I'd ever expect.. The V1 tracked a Ka band from behind me for at least 2miles.. I would have never believed it, but the signal just kept going.. It came from a patrol car parked in the middle of the intersection diverting tracking... I thought maybe he was following me, but he wasn't. I now believe that "anything else is uncivilized"..

I agree with Joey in that the V1 has an incredible range and continues to impress me more and more.

I'm not sure about this but in my experience, cops don't always pull over a speeding vehicle even if you were clocked speeding. Meaning if the cops cannot safely pull into traffic or make a u-turn, he probably won't come after you. Why the expletive? You were going 20 over and didn't even show respect by slowing down. That was indicated by the brakes lights. When I get the warning brake lights or the warning overheads, I purposely activate my brake lights so the cop can see it to show that I got the message. Otherwise yes you run the risk of the cops finally making his way back to you (even over 2 miles later) and ticketing you.

I know the feeling. Once while I was northbound in the #1 lane, the cop was southbound in the #1 lane so we were door to door on a long straight away but there was a concrete median (no way to u-turn) between us on the freeway. I was doing at least 30 over and when I saw the cop I didn't even slow down. He instant on me and I didn't even slow down and he threw the spot light on me and was flashing his brake lights as if saying "Hey slow down you idiot!" I felt bad.

question...can a highway trooper follow you off an exit? because i was in a similar situation ..well the cop was going the otherway..clocked me(85 in a 55) and made a uturn in the grass and went after me..my first reaction was to floor it so i did and headed to the nearest exit..he went after me but without the sirens
i was so far ahead of him because the offramp roads were so twisty and cop cars are like boats..so i decide to turn around and head back to the highway and i see him and pass by him..but wondering can he could pull me over? ah whatever..i wouldve denied everything..that was so fun

Yes, State Troopers can and will follow you anywhere. Their jurisdiction is the State of South Carolina in my case, or neighboring states if they were previously engaged in pursuit into NC or GA. As you guys pointed out above, you got lucky. I have never tried outrunning a cop because (A) that just makes the charges worse if/when they nail you (B) you can't outrun a Motorola .

I've had a V1 for over 3 years now. Some of the best money I've spent in my life, IMHO. No planned obsolescence, all units are upgradeable to the latest by the factory. And yes, you know exactly what's hitting you from what direction with it - K, KA, LIDAR or X (if anyone uses that anymore - not here in SC!).

my cousin has a v1 in the turbo gsr, and just a few weeks ago, we picked up a cop 3 miles ahead of us. no joke, 3 miles. it just kept steadily increasing the warning. he wasn't amazed, since he's just used to it, but i was saying WTF. his only problem is he gets nailed by laser ever since he had to shut that part off becuase of his msd digital ignition ...
