I wonder what could even be salvaged from that. The glass? A swatch of leather? Rear suspension?

I questions whether that car in the photo is really a typeS due to the strange placement of the trunk "s" and the missing shift knob.. the only other place that I would be able to tell is the engine cover that is burnt... ??? (not that it really matters anyways....)

That wreck is worth $3500??
When I wrecked my '01 TypeS the insurance company said the salvage was worth only $3800. All my windows were intact and I had zero damage to anything on the car that was behind the front wheels except for the frame rails.
I'm betting my insurance company got more from the salvage than $3800.

I would try to geusse that it started in the fuel system up front then spread thru the line to the backthing always seem to occur in NYC.......born here I should know.
