anything but the short ram..second one doesnt look bad, put a K&N filter on it and it might be worth it. as long as it gets far away from the engine and has a decent filter i dont know why it wouldnt be just as good as the comptech or AEM. a week after i got my car i put a short ram i got off eba for 20 bucks on and my car sounded like a UFO. i then replaced it with an icebox.

you will need a K&N filter with those so once you pay for that and the crazy shipping costs, you are looking at nearly $100 for a POS intake. You can just wait a while and find a used AEM or Injen off this site or Ebay for a very similar price and much more quality.

Bought an AEM, and it make s a world of difference....you can't see the engineering differences, but they are there.
alright, i guess that's out of the question...well has anybody modified the stock intake to recieve air from a cool spot (just like the ice box)??...I just didnt' know if it was that easy with this car....It was piece of cake on my GSR
actually I made ram air from my stock box. I took off and got rid of the bottom resonator box, cut a hole in the bottom of the actual air box to accept three inch piping. The three inch piping I used was some flexible piping used for tight ported sub boxes made by JL so it was able to bend, but alot smoothier flowing than that flexible garden hose crap. I then cut the back of the lower insert from a 03 cl and made a fiberglass adpater that matched the pipe right to the insert. Then to top it off I added a K&N drop in filter. I would love to find some place that would custom mandrel bend some 3" aluminum piping for some really smooth flow. Otherwise it works very well.

K&N Air filter.
Do yourself a favor and get a real intake. If you're interested, check out our site (link in sig) and email the sales guys... tell them Juniorbean sent ya and we'll see what we can do on price....
Go to Auto Zone, Get the Spectre flex and the firewall bracket, run the tubing from the bottom of the stock box to the lower grill; add some mesh or screening to keep out big things like leaves, etc.
Do a search and you'll find my thread on this. Tough part is getting the resonator out! Also add the K&N 2133 filter.
Then when you have some money, get a Comptech.

Stock Intake
The hole in the bottom of the stock intake leads through sheet metal into the resonator box, which is in the right side fender well. The resonator then has its intake back inside the engine compartment, so it's both restricting and drawing hot air.
Believe it or not the resonator/silencer is as big as a playmate cooler, and weighs a ton. Removing it is the toughest job in any CAI installation, as you have to go thru the fenderwell (preferred) r the front bumper (a hassle).
You can go to the Comptech website and pull up intake installation for more details.
