Cheap/ Frees mods...

Does anyone have secrets or common knowledege about what you can do to your CL without actually purchasing something thats pre-fabricated and pricey??

ie is there a way to clear out the amber part of the headlights without buying JDM spec lights???

anything else you have done or seen??

Free - Clear headlights (search), Debadge trunk, custom grill,

A Few Bucks - add a high flow filter to the factory intake, clear led spoiler, change foglight bulb and interior, remove resonator, Autovation Pedals..

All I can think of for now..

you can't buy JDM Spec lights, all the people that clear them out do it themselves. heat the light up, pull the silicone apart, pull out the amber piece, silicone back together.

What other things are you looking for. Most cheap/free mods do more damage then good when it comes to performance

He's cheap...and obnoxious. j/k!!
I know some cheap mods but wonder what you'll do if you don't like em.
Oh well. I assume you have an 03 6 speed.
I covered the amber diffusers with tint, they look less yellow.
Install silver or silverstar brand bulbs for the front turns, look silver, but burn amber.
Tint the white tails.
You can upgrade interior bulbs to whiter bulbs than the stock yellowish bulbs.
You can upgrade hi-beams with whiter bulbs.
Change out the shift knob to a heavier, shorter one for quicker shifts. I like the S2000/TSX knobs.
Claybar, good wax and polish, microfiber towels for drying and buffing.
Did my best. good luck.

I used Sylvania Silverstar bulbs in my high beams. I think the number is 4006?
They are brighter than stock, and whiter, but are not as white as I wanted, don't know if there is anything better.

Best free mod ever. Stock ride, performance looks. I recommend at least 4 coils for that sporty look.

I cut my springs when I first bought my car. Of course, everyone on here made it out like I had just done the worst thing imaginable. If you cut the bumpstop down, it'll ride excellent. Mine rode great. I even had a member of Acura-CL.com ride in my car to show him how well it rode, and he agreed...matter of fact, he even ended up cutting a coil off his OE's afterwards.

My friend bought an NSX about 2 months ago that came lowered. It rode so stiff he couldn't deal with it any more...so he bought some stock springs and cut them. Now it rides almost like stock and sports a lowered look.

I'll agree, cut stock springs may not have the same performance benifits as a lowering spring, but the difference isn't really too noticable. They do however ride smoother on our particular car, as with many dual wishbone style suspensions, and the mod is free.

Here's my original post made about 3 years ago:
