Changing struts question - help

My brother has a 97 Camry XLE with 75,000 miles on it. I have driven it recently and the ride is way to bouncy. I think the struts need to be replaced. I called two toyota dealers in the area and they both want 1400 plus to change all four struts. That is insane. They said that the stock struts cost 700 plus, rest is labor. What do you guys recommend? He is not looking to get performance struts or anything but if he can do it cheaper and get a better handling, then I am all for it. Any thoughts??? Thanks

Get some KYB GR-2, they are plain gas shocks, go for like $40 each on tirerack or other places. Then go to a performance shop and they should do it for around $225. $100 if you are in Florida or Cali:sqnteek: Or you could put in springs, shocks and labor for like $700.
