Changed gauges/lights behind them??

Has anybody changed or tried to change their gauges or the lights behind the gauges?? I would like to change the stock bulbs back there to more of a bluish indiglo color. Does anyone know how to go about something like this? Any imput would be appreciated. Also, I have seen "Indiglo needle" kits for the gauges out there, any opinion of those??

THANKS!!

Haven't heard of anyone doing this yet. Do a search on the site and see if you get any hits.

Nate on the TL board is in the process of doing this. Just an FYI, unless you have a solid electronics background, are very good at soldering very small components, and have a large sum of money just laying around, I say don't bother.

Here are a few links:

I actually tried to do this. I took out the gauge cluster to see if it were possible and to see what type of bulbs are in the back. There were quite a few. One for each thing that lights up as well as the gauges for speedo and tach, etc. Unless you can find the same type bulbs but at a higher wattage, I don't think you will be able to modify the brightness if the gauges. The bulbs themselves are not colored it's the guages themselves that are transparent to whatever color acura decided to make them. So if you wanted different color gauges you wold have to fabricate an entirely new gauge cluster. The bulbs are very small, i don't even know where you would find them, except for the ACura dealer. And they would be the same as you have now anyways.

Open up the posts I have. Nate did it. He had to use LEDs to make it work. It's a sh!tload of work.

He has some new pics if you're interested.

Thanks for the posts. I guess it is possible after all. I was thinking about placing LED's in to those tiny harnesses but didn't think it would fit. I guess I was wrong about that.
