To change or not to change
That is the questionc :o . Now after approx 13k miles since the last tranny fluid change in my 5 a/t , my fluid is still light red (pinkish). Tranny is shifting fine. Should I still change, and what should I look to pay for this service. I figure other places can do it, but I was going to let the dealer do it IF necessary, with the tranny issues and all.
Should I still have it done even with what is stated above ?

OK...the dealer recommends to change ur atf every 30K...however we ALL have had tranny problems and would like to avoid them at all times...I change my personal CL-S's trans fluid every 15K...just for the hell of it. Takes me 5 minutes and the fluid is free...so no biggie for me. I always recommend for everyone to change it at 15K...even a select few do change it at 15K on their services. The reason is..EVERY 30K service I have ever done has had black as could be trans fluid coming out of it. So I try to change it before that happens.
Now as to where to get it done...whereever. Just make sure whoever does it uses the factory Honda ATF. You don't have to but it's hightly recommended. Also all they gotta do is remove the drain plug and wait for the fluid to come out the put the plug back in and tighten it...then lower the car and remove the fill plug...fill it with 3-3.5 quarts of trans fluid and then re-install the fill plug and tighten. The reason I just typed all this like a moron is because i've seen many places that charge like $100 for trans fluid change (not dealers) because they say "Ohh u have to drop the pan and change the filter...then u have to fill it w/ the car running in drive" Just basic stupid lies and don't wanna see anyone try and pull a fast one on u. Any other ???'s lemme know. Good luck!!
