Cayenne and X50 no joke
just got done reading the article on porsche's new 450hp duo...the Cayenne(SUV) and X50(911 turbo)..and im impressed...whoever said the Cayenne was slow (13.7@102) must have been mistaken....yes its quoted at 450hp, but its an SUV...anyways, the X50 is still badass going 11.8@119...just thought i would share my opinions

True, but i just can't see myself buying a porsche and IT being an SUV. Sorry. Suv's have been around for a LONG long time, and porsche just got into the market. I think i'll stick with a company that's been around for a longer time making SUV's ie: Lexus, Toyota, Honda, Acura, BMW.
Suv's aren't supposed to be FAST anyways. Their purpose; lots of room, comfort, OFFROADING capabilities.
The way i see it is, if i'm getting a porsche, it's going to be a sports car.

When you're moving a vehicle that weighs 5000 llbs, you need some hp to get it going ![Smile](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I didn't like the Cayenne at first, but the more that I've seen/read about it, the more I like it.
Any Porsche turbo is more then welcome to park in my garage
(think Porsche will give me one ??)
Yep, the X50 is the 911TT package. I still want a 993TT tho'.

from the tests, the car will have a hard time rolling over, it's quicker then a lot of cars around the track. I'd be more worried about some of the other SUV's rolling over even at low speeds

The Cayenne S is the base model (no Turbo) the Cayenne Turbo has the turbo (of course).
There are rumors of a VW powered V6 Cayenne which will compete with the VW Toureag (veedub version of the Cayenne).
Clear as mud, eh??

Here is from Motortrend:
To handle the power supplied to the optional 9x20 wheels shod in 275/40R20 shoes (18s are standard and 19s are also optional), the Cayenne's binders employ six-piston front, and four-piston rear calipers with 13.8 and 13.0-in vented discs respectively. Paired with standard ABS, the Turbo takes 320 feet to stop from 100 mph and 112 from 60. Porsche's pepper is certainly spicy under the bonnet, with a twin-turbocharged 32-valve 4.5-liter V-8 supplying 450 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque through the standard fare six-speed Tiptronic and Porsche Traction Management all-wheel-drive system. As one would expect, the setup provides exhilarating acceleration. In our test trials, the Turbo posted a 5.4 pull to 60 mph, and tripped the quarter-mile timing lights at 13.79 @ 102.47.
Out accelerate most modded cars on this site, outbrake them, too. The article didn't have the slalom speed but this was on TV last week and I think they said it was like 66.7 or something like that. It's an insane concoction...
