CAUGHT AIR!!! then a nose dive =(

so someone tried to make it across the lane as i was coming down the street. it was one of those " i had about 15 feet to either t-bone or swerve," so i opted for the swerve. could have been much worse if not for the sway bar and some good rubber =).. anyway i flew across the opposite traffic lanes and managed to avoid a fire hydrant but literally flew over a ditch and nose dived. the carnage:
steering wheel straight

tomorrow morning starts the tear down... my list is radiator, possible condenser, left tie rods, sway bar end links.... wont find out till it all comes raining down =(

sucks bro.. but at least u aren't hurt. U think fixing a car costs $/time? try body parts

I think u made the right move anyways. If u hit hit u could of merked someone in the car. Not to mention ur car would probably be unrepairable or a write off.

nice breaks!

Ouch. I wouldve t-boned the other car, especially if you had the right of way. But, then youre putting your body at risk.

And that tie rod is fuuuuuuuuucckked.

ya, 50mph hitting the drivers side of another car prob equals bad news.
only thing i got done was cut the condenser out, its been raining all week in tallahassee.
pulled the support out about 25% and the come-along i was using snapped so im going industrial cable

think im gonna bring the rad and cond tot he scrap yard and try to get some money back, $0.85 a pound for aluminum! lol

glad you're okay, I know that the rules of the road dictate that you shouldn't swerve, especially across opposite lanes of traffic. But none of us were there so you never know what could have happened. And in a split second you usually react by instinct in the sense of self-preservation, which was what happened to me. I almost rear ended someone on the freeway going 40, while they were stopped (traffic) because I was a young dumbass and I was fumbling with my new radio. It was so fast that I jerked the steering wheel and into the carpool lane I went, barely missing the SUV by maybe a foot or two (again, going 40) and went into a 4-wheel skid. I had to correct several times to get straightened out again, and it could have been really ugly had there been a car in the carpool lane.

Not condoning swerving and in my case it was 100% my fault but still.... we're both lucky to have dodged a bullet. Stay safe

Dang man, that looks like one hell of a dive. Guess you did not get the Pre-Runner edition CLS?

I've never seen a tie rod bend like that! Only break. Did you Airbag go off?

Glad you did not go into that truck at 50+ man. You might not be here anymore! You did the right thing.
