Carputer Question

I ran into a problem while trying to figure out how-to used a shutdown controller for cars. I am computer builder myself and I know that if the computer hdd (Hard-drive) turn on and off by power switch is not good.

I found this youtube video for a shutdown-controller module. I want to learn what he used in this can anyone tell?

Not sure, but it looks pretty cool. Try posting in the AV section in Off Topics. You may get some better answers there.

That is a really cool controller in the video. You can message him on youtube if you register there (free). And I'm sure you know about it but just in case here is a great carputer website. http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/

The whole point of the controllers, besides regulating the voltage, is to signal the computer to shutdown/hibernate and wakeup. When you turn the car off (or switch the carputer off depending on your setup) it signals the computer to shutdown and then actually powers down in a preset time (usually under 1 minute).
