Carlsbad E.T's

Well... aside from the clutch breaking, I did get a two decent passes this weekend.

FYI... temp was 78C (not as cold as I would have liked).

Pass #1:

Baby-launch equating to a 2.072 60-foot (bogged badly off the line).

13.701 @ 101.26

Pass #2:

Slightly higher launch to a 1.984 60-foot (still bogged a bit)

13.572 @ 102.65

Realistically... I could have have achieved a 1.8x 60-foot which would translate to possibly a 13.4x... but we shall never know!

I was a little disappointed by the MPH. A better launch might have trapped a 103.xx, but I would need real cold air to trap in the 104-105 range - once again... we shall never know!

This car will probably never see a track again... for obvious reasons - but it was fun while it lasted!

I still think a 12-second NA E.T. is possible with some head work, cams and an ECU - I won't be pursuing this goal anymore.

Mike G. was there with a video... its 15MB's.

Allmotor, you can't give up your quest to be the 1st NA CL-S in the 12s...do it for the A-cl brotherhood.

I need about 40whp to go from a 13.4/13.5 to a 12.8/12.9 E.T.

That's VERY difficult!!

Plus it has to be done on slicks... no way an N/A CL-S will run 12's on street tires or DR's.

I am not saying you can't do it.. but it will be very tough. Here's what I think it will take (unless you really gut the hell out of the car):

310whp
Slicks or DR's on an auto
Some weight reduction
Very good driving

If you get your car setup... maybe I'll drive for ya! j/k

A more aggressive launch and harder shifting would have dropped 1/10th to 2/10ths... not to mention colder weather... but that's all 'what-ifs'... it ran what it ran!

Ram, are you going to keep the car or get something else to tune?

disclaimer on the vid

it's a digicam taking video so the resolution is only 320x240...
also, the camera was acting up so i couldn't tell if i was zooming in/out enough...that's why you'll see it bouncing back and forth. the vid is the 2nd pass.

i'd love to see type R get into the 12's

allmotor

u can EASILY do 12's, u still havent done the 3.5 upgrade
add the 3.5, full cat back exhaust from comptech, unichip, cooler weather and a working clutch so u can drop it at 4k and you'll hit 12.7 w/ your street et's

What are these obvious reasons? I must have missed something. I saw you were selling stuff. Are you selling your CL-S? If not why are you stopping with the mods? Just because of clutch issues?
