Carbon Fiber Roof
How much weight do you guys think we would save if we went with a Carbon Fiber hood? and and guess how much that would cost? I was watching the M3 CSL video and i was like daym that is neat... i wonder how the sunroof would work with it or woul the sunroof have to go also.

I'm confused... do you want a CF Hood or Roof? B/C you mention both.
Hit up Rob G if you have questions about the Hood. Roof... never heard of anyone doing this and like they said above.... it wouldn't be worth it.

Umm, carbon fiber roof, huh? If you want to die in case of a roll-over, then go for it. I'd much rather have solid steel protecting my noggin.
When a car is designed and engineered, the overall structure of the vehicle is engineered so that the impact of a crash is absorbed and spread throughout the car. Replacing it with a carbon fiber hood would look cool and save weight, but if/when you get into an accident, that just means more impact force for you and your passengers. Same with carbon fiber roof. Let's not even mention a roll-over. In case of an accident, the roof would just collapse, folding the car in half. If you want to get wedged in between the steering wheel and the seat and bleed to death, be my guest.
Once again, I would much rather have the extra weight, with the assurance that there's solid steel protecting me.
