the car you learned to drive in
I learned to drive in a 1972 Opel 1900 Wagon. I took my driver's test in a 1978 Cadillac Sedan DeVille.
I learned stick on a late 1970s Chevy Luv pick-up truck, borrowed from the University's motor pool, of course.

I learned to drive in a Peugot *don't know what edition. THe small kind. ha.
When i took my test, the car i was using failed, so i had my friend in a last minute favor drive over his dads car to the DMV. He showed up in a 2001 Jaguar S-Type. Not that its anything special....
except for the fact they have rear sensors. I started to parellel park and the proctor started to say i was cheating because the sensors were telling me how close i was getting. He was just playing, but it was such a great thing to have.

Enough rust seeds were often found germinating in the air intakes.

To make a left in snow apply brakes, to turn right downshift in first.
'75 Chevy Caprice Estate
'83 Honda Accord, start of a recently renewed relationship.

Deuce and a half (two and a half ton multi-fuel), US Army Germany.
Grew up in Manhattan (no driving for me), went in the Army, got assigned to Germany after AIT ('66) passed the written test, got the license (road test? we don't do that), got assigned a two and a half ton truck (scuse me I don't know howta drive), here let me show you. This is the gas, brake, clutch, etc etc. now just drive around post for a coupla days then we'll put you on a run to Frankfurt. Very different, very different.

1980 Toyota Tercel hatchback...dam I miss that little workhorse!!! That car took such abuse...carried a trunk load of cynder blocks, wood, even helped pull down the large tree we used to have in the front yard. Best of all it never had a single problem with it.
1986 Jeep Cherokee Pioneer (2.8L V-6). I don't even know the specs on that car anymore, all I remember is that it was SLOWWWW as hell
. I think I topped it out at 75mph (going downhill
), and I'd have trouble keeping up with Metro busses when taking off from a stoplight. I'm tellin ya, this thing was pretty damn slow.
