Console yourself with this (unless you can really afford a new one) : when you go to sell your car its easier to sell an A/T !!! Only real enthusiasts will want a stick (far and few).
I just bought my car right before New Years... i wanted to wait but couldn't

very solid review...it was because of their initial little write up that I bought my CL-S without ever seeing or driving one....

Hell, after reading the review, I had to double check the sponsoring magazine ... at first I thought is Dar and Criver. But no ... it was the Car (BMW) and Driver (Editor) mag. It must have been quite an editorial session discussing an Acura in such superlative terms ...
Wonder how much it would cost to swap out our A/T?

Go into your dealer, hand them some LUBE, drop your pants and SPREAD-EM.
Let them take your ANAL virginity (I hope ) and find out what it’s going to cost to get you in a 2003.

im guessing the cost of switching transmissions is alot more then trading in your current ride for an 03..
also i thought they liked the 01, just said the obvious.. an all around nice car that's confused about if its trying to be a bmw or a caddy.. with the engine making promises the rest of car can't hope to keep..

This could easily cost you many THOUSANDS of dollars and it would void your entire drivetrain warranty.
Yes, I’m loosing a couple of GRAND, but I’m coming away with a proven car with ZERO miles and a 40,000-mile warranty.

But I get to deduct part of the the loss on my taxes since I use the car for business. I'll have to run the numbers and see what that works out to.

Well, actually it was about 32K with tax.
The 30,400 number was for just the car, options & delivery charge.
Because I remember I put about 10K down and my loan was for 22K even.
BUT……I’m “saving” 1,440 on taxes on the trade for the 03. (24K x 6%).

So if the new car is say 32,000, I only pay 6% tax on 9,000 of it.
32K-23K=9K.
So the PA tax will only be 540 dollars.
At least that’s the way Pennsylvania is.

i love that write up, but i still dont like the car without the fogs. i drove a tl yesterday and it had real fogs, with a real switch. they were real nice and i wish i had them. Maybe i will when i get my tl-s. I dont know what car to look at next, but only time will tell. I may really have to look into the maxima or I35, the tl may not be sporting enough for me. we will see.
