Car being shipped out--anything I should do?

Hey all!

My cars are being picked up today (being shipped to Seattle). Is there anything that I should be concerned about or that I should do (mechanically or otherwise) before they get picked up?

I was told to make sure each car had less than 1/4 tank of gas but I didn't know if it really made sense to check tires, etc. before it goes. I guess they're being shipped via a semi.

Thanks for you help!

Take anything of value out. Make sure you note any damage before it gets picked up, as well as the truck driver. Get something in writing noted anything found. And Keep the spare keys with you.

take pictures with a date stamp, or video so you can note any new damages during the transit.

Tape cardboard to the windshield.

Put a bra on the front of the car.

Unhook any alarm.

From experience.

make sure you check the mileage. There's a guy in austin with a TLS who bought it off ebay and had some delivery service send it to him. They ragged the shit out of it and not only fucked up his wheels but his tranny blew while they were ragging on it too. Make sure those guys don't drive your car is all

Make sure you don't have a full tank...especially if they put the car inside a truck (it gets pretty hot in there)...and if they do put it in the truck and you're there, you may want to open the window just a crack for ventilation. Note any damages as well as the movers might screw up something when they load/unload the car. Note the bumpers and exhaust, hopefully they dont' bend anything or scratch as they drive up and down the ramp.

Thanks for the info. My new company is paying for the move so I'm just going to fly out. I was kind of looking forward to driving through Montana...isn't that the state with no daytime speed limit?

montana used to have what was a safe and prudent daytime limit. they went back to having a numbered limit because nhtsa treatened to reduce or remove montana's funding and the traffic related fatality rate went up by 75%.
