I just got it late this April so I have yet to undergo a Canadian winter with it.

Depending on where I move once I graduate this December, I may have to drive it during a snowy and slushy winter.

I can just imagine how interesting it's going to be. With my stock tires and lack of TC/VSA, I find it hard to drive on rain sometimes (wheelspin when leaving from a stop). It's almost impossible to accelerate in 1st and 2nd gear.

I remember when I had my 98 Camaro Z28... I could spin 4th @ 2000rpm in the rain lol.

I tried driving with the stock POS tires in the winter once and had a hell of a time getting anywhere. I ended up getting a set of winter tires and Im sure you will too!!

I'm North west of Toronto and I bought my car in March.

It came with 2 good tires and 2 pretty bad ones.
I put the bad ones in the rear and the rear slipped out twice on me, ( I wasn't even drive fast, I wasn't crawling either) had to counter steer but I was lucky my back end didn't hit anyone.

Once was in the snow the other was on a road with just a bit of sand/gravel on it.

I have a six speed and it's just fine in the winter provided you put some winter tires on. It's a FWD with a longer wheelbase - don't need much else. The original tires where useless - sold them with less than 1000 km; come to think of it, they weren't much better in the summer :>)

Toronto PGD owner here. Got the car 3 months ago. Bought it with winter tires on it, switched to Toyo Proxes 4. No problems in the rain with Toyos but also I didn't experience any problems with the winters (blizzak lm-22 but they have 2 seasons on them and pretty worn out). The guy who sold me the car said it was excellent in the winter.

Hi, Montreal 6 speed here. There aren't much 3.2cl here. I can sometimes go for 2 weeks without seeing one, sometime even longer than that.

never met anyone else with a 6 speed.

In the winter, the car is great. If you have good winter tires and you don't drop it... you'll get out of anything. I never use a shovel with this car. I just get in and out of snow banks.

Edmonton Alberta reporting in...

I had a 5AT for 2 years and had no problems, but I always use winter tires as my ES100s are a summer tire only. This summer I switched to a 6 speed, and I am curious to know how it will do without the VSA. I still plan to have winter tires. Currently running the Toyo TPTs which IMHO are total crap compared to the ES 100s. I am just burning off these tires so that I can switch to Yokos next summer.

I just sold my SC'd CL about a month back. Never really had issues driving in the winter. I usually see a lot of CL's in the suburbs, Mississauga, Oakville, on the way to work about 3-4 a day.

I'd kill for a handbreak just for those odd corners where you hit some bad ice, but with winter tires it handles fine for me

Toronto North, the only place to live, away from the shooting gallery downtown.
