Can we use 90mm pistons ?

I found a machine shop a few miles away and they do alot of work for the area and heard they have cheap prices too.
I'm thinking of getting my block done but don't know if I should trying boring the block to 90mm or just have it tanked and honed.
I see you can buy .050 larger oversized pistons.
That is 1.27mm I think.
So that does mean I can go from a 89mm to 90mm.
Right or wrong ?

I believe that is the maximum bore you can go on the j32, i recall seeing that someone had done the same bore before on his build.

That would be me... 90mm is the maximum bore for the J32 from Honda's recommended maximum bore size. Any more would be too weak. If you plan on boosting, 90mm bore will eventually crack and lead into major issues. If your going with a 90mm bore, it's strictly NA application only. Of course this is for the stock sleeve. If you were to sleeve it......that would be a different story.

How much hp/tq did you gain from the 3.7 over the 3.2 ?
What crank,rods,pistons did you use?
Any relief work done to your pistons to clear valves?

I think I'm going to drop the block off today.
I talked to the guy at the shop and he said he would bore and hone for 20 per hole and clean the block for 35.
It seams to be pretty cheap. The block is sitting in my trunk but, I'm going to now.Lets see how long it takes for me to make the ride.

I might as well,I think 3.7 badging would look good. I want to get something happening too.
I will still add some spray even if I have to start at a 35 shot.
having it running heathly would be first.

Blocks off but they said they might not get to it by the end of the week.

Finally someone picking up on my tracks. Let me know if you have any questions. Would recommend getting cometic headgaskets for the 90mm bore, just take your pick on thickness

hmm... thats a good questions.... I don't see why not, but I think with a 1mm gap from wall to headgasket, premature headgasket failure may happpen?
