Scooter, I had about 3 coats of Zaino and unknowingly used Meguiar's Gold Class car wash. The wash does take some of the wax off but it did clean off all the dirt and grime from the car. I suggest the Zaino wash b/c it is made not to strip the wax. If the car is dusty I just hose it down, dry it off, and use the spray. If the car is dirty I wash w/the Zaino soap and put another coat of wax. I believe I've put 15 coats since April and it makes washing the car so much easier.

Somewhere here on the board, one of the distributors said that the Z7 car wash actually contains the Z2 polish (Dunno if this is true since the Z2 is for clear-coated cars and Z3 is for non-clear coated cars). So, supposedly washing the car with Z7 re-applies the polish..

I've used turtle wax solution to wash
and then Zaino polish afterwards all the time
with no problems.

I use McGuir's CarWash (just because you can buy it at the store), and the ful line of Zaino, but think I'm going to order some Z7 ASAP. I didn't know that McGuire's strips wax. That certainly doesn't seem very practical.

The wash does take some of the wax off but it did clean off all the dirt and grime from the car.

Meguair's Car Wash does NOT strip wax...i just read the label...it conditions the finish like the Z7 does with its polishing compounds...dish soap like Dawn, Palmolive, etc. will strip the wax and just about everything else on the car ...and b/c of my ignorance for a number of years, i always used stuff like Ivory soap before waxing, so i wouldn't b accomplishing anything b/c i'd wax on, wax off every time i did a session (breath in, breath out Danielson ...couldn't resist)...i think the Meguair's is an ok thing, at least until the Z7 arrives...how much should i get?? i mean, i want to get stuff that's gonna last for a while...since the Z1 is once or twice a year, it seems im only gonna need 1 bottle to suffice...as for the Z2, 5, 7, im thinking a few bottles of each b/c i plan on putting on so many coats, prob one every weekend for a while in prep for the winter...i'm figuring around $100 for the entire order...that sound right???

Scooter, most car wash soaps state on the labels that they do not strip the wax. But in my experience, most car wash soaps strip the wax. I washed it several times with the Meguiar's w/o waxing it after so that may have been the propblem. It may be a slow process in stripping the wax. Nevertheless I try waxing after every wash to keep the shine. If you need Zaino stuff and don't want to pay s&h let me know. I can't get a discount off the products but I can save you the s&h. I actually have a bottle & a half of the Meguiar's left over since April.
