Can spraypaint be converted to brush-on paint?
Can spraypaint be converted to brush-on paint?
Sorry if this is a stupid question. Just wondering if anyone would know. I have cans of high temp spray paint and wanted to do my calipers. BUT my ass is TOO LAZY to take the tires off, but my rims expose them enough to do brush on paint. Being the frugal genius (more like cheap bastard) I am, I was wondering if you can take the spray paint and spray it all into a can or something and then paint it on? will the paint accumulate enough so it will still be liquid? or Will I just be painting the inside of a can like an ASS?? Thanks for any help

jeremy
ps. if this works I know a lot of you will try it and/or were thinking about it and just TOO ashamed to ask!!

Yes it will work but it is going to look like crap. At the least you must take the wheels off to clean the calipers. Paint will flake off fast if don't do a good job cleaning them.
Take the time to do it right or you will end up having to do it again plus you will get the added benefit of having to clean up the mess you created by not doing it right in the first place.
Just my 2 cents

Oh i know that. They are as clean as can be. Cleaner than if it were to come straight off the assembly line. I just wanted to know from a "painters" point of view, whether or not spraypaint can be liquified.

"Cheap bastard" All the cheap bastards drive a Benz and CL
All calipers needs some cleaning after a week of driving. I just painted my calipers last night and I took a wire brush to them and I thought they were clean but there was tons of dust on them.
In any case, even if you wanted to brush them on, you must remove the wheels in order to use a brush on the entire visible surface of the caliper. Otherwise, your job will certainly be crappy.
