Can someone answer this question for me.

I have a 01' Cl-S and I need to buy some rims and tires preferably today. I was about to order when the guy said they might rub. The Wheels have 42- offset and they said I need 48. Is this true. Can someone help me!

I would like to get some kind of 18's...or 19". But I don't want 19" anymore after seeing the prices for the tires.

It depends on the wheel WIDTH too.
I have 18x7.5” on order with a +48 offset and everyone says that size is OK.

This offset is something 42 and he said I need 48. What can I do? Do I have to custom order rims?

cali,

What wheels are you considering??
Are you lowered or plan to lower??

If you want something with higher offsets like +48, you probably will have to pay the price for them.

But it's well worth it! You have a nice car, why put some crappy wheels on it?

+42 offset would work for your car ok, you might get occasional rubbing.

A +45 offset would be the max lowest you would want to go and have it look nice.
Oh, and don't forget the correct bolt pattern too: 5-114.3(aka 4.5in)

You gonna make it out to the Northern Cali meet this Saturday??

Mine have a +42 and I had to do some modification of the rear fender well to make them fit with my Eibach ProKit.

There's another thread floating around right now where I detailed what I had to do.

My car is not lowered and I do not plan on lowering it. Is 42+ offset OK??

FYI.. EDUB-TL I wouldn't be able to make it to the meet this Saturday, but I would like to know when the next one will be in Northern Cali?

As Shawn said, the width of the wheel matters as well if it will "fit" on your car..
Do you have the brand and wheel in mind? Maybe some people can give you some insight on those wheels if they have had experience with them on their cars.

sure you can make it fit, but the question is, will they look nice as well?

If you don't lower it, then you probably won't have any issues.

Well... except one, whenever you get pictures of it or show it off to people, they will probably make fun of you for having the 4x4 look . J/K bro..

Keep an eye on the Meets forum for the next one, It seems like we meet up about every other month.
