huh? What happened to "remains innocent until proven guilty in a court of law"?
(I knew CLPower knew better that's why he changed his post. )

I don't think it'll be on your record until you are convicted.

you fight it so you don't lose and it doesn't go on your record. If you just pay the fine, your admitting your guilt and your premium goes up

I just took a safe drivers class thing which gave me 5 plus points but when I called Allstate they said its not worth anything, and they won't give you credit unless your over 55 and u take that class. and bascially the 5 safe points are just for DMV. and insurance could care less.

I took defensive driving...

Yet insurance just said they wanna double my rates or drop me because im a high risk driver? Where the fuck are they coming from? Left field...

The only thing I have on my licesne is a 2pt violation like a year ago... plus 2points that will show up soon.

And i just got 4pts off from def driving so that leaves me with 0 points.

Fucked up.

They can also drop you or hike your rates based on your claim experience or the claims experience for a particular make and model of car. At $3,500 a pop to repair stolen HID's, I think all CL and TL owners in large metro areas are going to get hiked soon. Issuing a policy is voluntary and an insurance company can drop anyone or adjust an individuals rates at anytime without explanation.

Um, didn't you just spend 1 week bitching you had to drive a Geo Metro? Yup, you had an at fault accident over 500.00. 5 "insurance" points on the insurance record. That shit follows you for 3 years 3 months.

Which leads me into my next question: Any accidents or payouts within the last 39 months?

Oh yeah, I forgot to add......

DMV points and "insurance" points are 2 different things. You can't undo insurance points. So, let's say, your convicted of minor violation at 2 points 1 year ago, and then add another 2 points but pass a defensive driver course at -4 points.....DMV sees you as 0 but the "CLU" system sees 4 points for 39 months per addition.

In Florida, it's state law that when you take the defensive driving class (no more than 5x in your life and once per 12 mos), the insurance companies can NOT raise your rates for that infraction, regardless of what it was.

Soopa, if your insurance company is going to do that, then switch companies. I've switched several times and they all have different point systems, and a lot of times for me, they didn't even bother finding out about all my tickets! I went from 3000/year to 2000/year even though I just got another speeding ticket 4 months ago!

Not True sir, the company will not raise your rate for speeding, but for a moveing violation involving property damage they can, and will raise your rates, and depending upon your claims frequency, at renewal they most likely will not renew your policy. I speak from experience, I am a licensed agent in fla.
