dont bother with plugs our car already comes equipped with iridium plugs. And if you have the $$$ get those heads P&P, that'll give you a nice boost with the headers, and if you have 250-300$ buy some 16's and throw drag radials like i did

Just race him anyway! The G35c is a hot car and there should be no shame in losing to one. If you beat him then its a bonus.
Finally saw a G35C on the road the other day and it was a beauty! Best part was that it was Black and clean (all the other cars on the road were full dirt & road salt).

If the diffrence betwen the G35 and a moded CLS-5AT is less than .5s in the 1/4, it a racer car... few times I won Elimination rounds at the strip when the car is faster than mine but less than 0.5 sec...

I agree with that. I am assuming the drivers are on par. You can EASILY overcome a 0.5 to even a 1.0s deficit (or handicap if you think the other way) just on driving... IF the other guy is a novice.
MOST folks who arn't avid drag-racing enthusiasts need at least 25 trips to a drag-strip before they really get their E.T's down.

24 runs so far in the last couple years... new tricks to learn... the first couple time I was doing 15.6 to 16.x, now I am very consistent... however, with each mod/tire setup... I need to retest launching techinques... With gate Shifting I am htting the rev limiter more often and the D4 could be a better choice!

He is no novice cause he gave me a tight race with his 98' Audi A4 2.8 Quattro with chrome 18" on. The car was M3 blue and had a short ram intake and Remus exhaust.
I thought I would win easily cause the A4 is only pushing 170 HP and AWD with heavy Anteras chromies but the fawker came out like a bat outta hell but eventually I caught him and passed him.
Definetly a new found respect in German engineering after that but with the G35.

The norm with I/H/E in cold weather is somewhere in the 14.5 to 14.7 range. If the this guy with the G35 6-speed mods his car even slightly & is a decent driver, he can more than likely win (unless you are running like mattg or TypeR).
As far as running quicker than 14's (naturally aspirated) like in the original post (by lou), that will be a difficult task & probably cost quite a bit of $$$$.

I have an auto and I ran a 9.31 in the 1/8th at E-Town with just intake and headers. That works out to about a 14.4 in the 1/4 according to other CL's.
I think that with better traction, pulleys, I could be ~14.2
Mid-Low 14's with I/H is possible with cold weather.

im really curious how he pulled this off w/out headers...im not saying that i doubt him, but i trapped 100 finally w/out spray, but still had shitty 60'...i think it was a 14.2@100, the times look convincing w/13.5@104 which seems possible, but if i trap 107 w headers, something to me just seems fishy....otherwise congrats again...i guess im still sulking over my traction problems

The 13.5 @ 104 means very good traction. That's like an E.T. with some slicks on (especially for a heavy car). I remember my civic (1900 lbs with driver) doing 12.5's @ 105-107. I was barely hitting 100mp traps but was nearly a 1/2-second slower. So... its believable.

Then he said that I was crazy if I think I can hang with the G35 6 speed and he would own me if we race. So then I said that the 350Z is faster but the G35 is not.
Anyways there is a possibilty that I might be racing him soon so I can shut him up. Now he is a good stick driver and loves hooking up his cars so I know he will have his shit ready.
My question to you guys is can I take the G35 6 speed even if he mods his shit. Im thinkin of doing the Ice-box, headers, and I have the SSR Competition already. Im thinking I will need to do close to 14 sec or less to take it correct.
By the way Im against supercharging and spraying its gonna have to be natural aspirated.
If you guys tell me I can't win I will not bring it up and act like I don't drag my car at all. Which would be going against my principles of not PUSSYING out.

reasons why you WILL GET OWN3D, HARD:
- more HP and torque in G35C6
- less weight
- RWD
-6 speed manual vs 5 speed auto
- better Coefficient of drag: .26 vs .33, and YES THIS MAKES A DIFFERENCE
- LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL!
just back out and keep your dignity! DON'T GET OWN3D!
