6 speed and auto beat the Pontiac Grand Prix GTP off the line and top speed? Has anyone race against that car? What was the outcome?

Which year of GTP?

The '03 has 240HP, 280 ftlbs of torque, the '04 has 260HP, 280 ftlbs of torque (both about the same weight as the CL).

The extra gear in the auto will help the extra 2 in the 6 speed will help more, but that 50ftlbs of torque over the CL is going to give the GTP an advantage off the line.

I'm guessing it's probably a pretty even race (considering the tranny options), with the GTP with the extra edge...

 

Yeah, i give the GTP a slight edge. From what i've heard, even a slightly modded GTP will run in the 13s, so if you run one you'd better hope it's stock.
