Can 1 crappy gas station cause Fuel gauge stuck on Full?

Link to "Bad Fuel Gauge" ^^
I see one of the causes can be gunk in the gas tank.
My 2001 CLS 160,000 i have always tried to use stations that i thought would likely have clean gas. Also have changed the gas filter at 80K and 130K. Other night i am at a Chevron and it starts burping on the last gallon. Also was not feeding gas fast the whole time. I'm told slowness can be a sign that the station is not keeping their filters clean.
Anywho now the farking fuel gauge is stuck on Full.
Sending unit is mentioned as a possible cause in above TL link. I could not find a CL link for stuck gauge, assuming it's the same. Also a bad connection on grounds is a possible cause. Either way it doesn't sound easy gettin into the tank.
Thoughts?

As to my cars Full gauge, it went down on it's own.
Now i don't know if i need to replace the sending unit or the pump part of the sending unit or not.

I'd like to do it myself if there is a DIY.
