Camber adjustments and Comptech
Camber adjustments and Comptech
I was curious if Comptech's drop requires any camber adjustment on front or rear? Also out of curiousity...how low can I drop before I have to consider cambers? This is on stock rims. Any help is appreciated...thank you!
no need to get a camber kit for comptech drop....its good just to get an alignment after the springs are installed...thats it..in fact, i jstu got my comptech springs last week and when we put it on the alignment rack, eevrything was still within spec...it didnt need any adjustments at all with the comptech springs...
well..
Wait until the springs settle. The fronts tend to settle more as time goes on (the look gets better
). But I would advise anyone with the opporunity to get the lifetime Firestone alignment..

Oddly enough I'm starting to wonder if the 14k with comptech springs is when my tire wear issues started. There's no way my camber wear is this bad just since the coilovers I put on 3k ago.
ps, this isn't something an alignment can fix - only camber kits can help.

No need for camber kits with Comptech springs. What is really thrown off with Comptech springs is the toe, but all you need to fix that is an alignment.
The thing with Comptech springs is the fact that we do have some negative camber, which is good, but when combined with an incorrect toe setting you get the increased tire wear, especially on the inside of your tires.
I got an alignment right after installing my springs, but the roads down here just threw it off so I started getting the excessive tire wear on the inside of my tires. I got an alignment now at Tire Kingdom where you can go back as often as you like for 3 years to get the car realigned. I figure I'll go at least every 3K miles and also get my tires rotated this way I won't go through tires so quickly.
