Called Valentine about design changes

After reading from some of ya'lls other posts about changes valentine has done, I called valentine to confirm and get the details. Here's what they said:

A couple months ago we made a physical change: reduced height 1/4 inch
and a software change: no performance changes, just programming tweaks/mods.

I asked about upgrading since mine was bought a year ago. They said they're waiting for some parts to come in before theyll offer upgrades to other units. You'll send your unit in, wait a couple of days then get it back.

As for the software upgrade, I asked if it was major enough to warrant selling mine and buying a new unit just to get the upgrade (as I do a lot of Houston-Austin driving). He said no, not that major. If it was a major change, they'd send notices out, he said.

Guess I'll wait to do a standard (eek, i hate being normal or standard) upgrade when they're ready.

The V-1 is great and I guess you can only do so much with perfection.
I feel I now have an excuse to by one becuase I'm planning on taking a few long trips in Aug. and don't need any x-tra ticks.

I'm curious as to specifically what programming changes they made.

no, mark that, I'm amazed as to how much you can customize these puppies... check this http://www.valentine1.com/lab/MikesLabRpt3.asp
