California people (gas question)!

what gas do you use? Are you using a gas card? What kind of rebates are you getting?

I'm currently using Mobil, more because of location, and it is the cheapest in my area. As far as rebates, I just started looking in into it, and I think the Chase Shell card has the highest. I saw a sign at there pumps saying 15cents+ per gallon rebate(based on $1.5X per gallon). Their gas is about 12 cents higher than I pay, so the savings would be 3+. I drive a lot(120 miles/day) and have to use premium, so I'm checking around on this.

I'm using 76 and its primarily due to the locations.
The gas seems to be a bit overpriced but who knows right now.

I put gasoline on a airline mileage credit card.

i've been using 76 lately too, but am looking for something cheaper.

I think i'm gonan go w/ exxon/mobile. They give 3% back on gas purchases and have 11 locations w/ in 3 miles of my place.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the gas companies all shared storage facilities, pipelines, and actually stockpiles of gasolines.

The gas goes from the shared major storage facilities to the unshared local distribution points where the major manufacturers can add their own additive to brand their gas (i.e. techroline).

Maybe the 76 additive is increasing your gas mileage?

CA gas prices

I just threw $20 in and didn't even get 9 gallons!! $2.27 a gallon for premium today. A couple of weeks ago I cheaped out and put a tank of regular in, but I noticed right away that it didn't start as well in the mornings so I went back to premium. I'm a little jealous of my GF's car ('03 Honda cpe) gettting 240 hp on regular gas. I pay cash

I've started filling up at Costco -- saving as much as .20/gal at times. Don't know who's gas they're selling, but it's 91 octane and car runs great. Costco is really awesome on their prices.

Yeah Costco has some great prices, but it seems that everybody in my area (clairemont) is catching on and the lines are soooooo long at certain times of the day like 7-8+ cars long sometimes...
