Why not wait and see how the Comptech IB does?

They put out pretty accurate HP/TQ numbers (and don't use averages like some people) and wouldn't have the maintainability issues of the AEM CAI (I have it and think the whole issue of filter changing, sucking up heat with wimpy bypass valves, and other issues weigh against the good HP/TQ gains of the AEM)...

YMMV

Also, some people mention warranty. Depending on your dealer, they may be "partial" to standing behind the Comptech (or other part). There are two local dealers that I've called that will back up the warranty with Comptech headers, upcoming Comptech tranny cooler kit, etc if they do the install. Do check with the people you might need to work with in the area (get two votes in case one dealer turns out to be a "problem"...)

I didn't know that people were "against" the Weapon R.

The only issue that I thought about was some possible UFO sounds and changing to it or the Comptech Icebox.

Ask the Moon man...

(Heck, even Scalbert's design shares more in common with the Weapon-R than the AEM CAI !!!! )

Also, one of the biggest power robbing feature of the stock airbox is the accordian like rubber pipe that goes from the throttle body to the intake box. Both the Comptech icebox and the IS300 upgrade kit gets rid of that accordian pipe.
True enough. If you have a 6 speed, you have a problem because the CAI's don't mate with the throttle body, so you need the accordian tube, or get a piece of silicone hose.

The dyno is out on the 6-speed with Icebox. See the CompTech column. We're just waiting for the dyno with the auto.

CAI is Heaven at VTEC to redline! Any install questions should be directed to Amir as he took his time to install his CAI correctly! The CT trans cooler is a B&M unit for 100!

Looking at the dyno it seems that the Icebox increases the torque more than the HP which is what the CL-S auto is lacking. I think it would be best to get the Ice-box and see if the K&N filter of the AEM can be put in the Ice-Box.

Call around and you may have better luck with "dealers." I spent the best part of a day calling around doing a bit of research on just installing the B&M. I'll spare you the Acura Care BS. I was rather interested in the refusal by all of the local dealers to back up the transmission warranty (at least a month or so ago) with a DIY B&M install. I even called back to see what their "views" would be about installing the B&M: they said they would not "honor" or help with any transmission issues.

When I asked about the Comptech kit, I found two dealers that were happy to install the "kit" and stand behind the transmission warranty.

You can call around and you might have better luck in your area, but there have been a few people that are not too happy about their current situation regarding mods/MM-act and Acura's fine print.

Something to think about...
