cai/h without exhaust?

Do you guys think the gains in hp are greatly effected by not having an aftermarket exhaust with aem cai and obx ceramic headers? Obviously they would be better with an exhaust, but do you think it makes the others pointless? What do you think my gains are from those two things alone, with the stock exhaust?

My headers are chipping a bit, should i be worried? Are they even obx ceramic, thats what i was told but how the hell should i know!

Getting a cat-back exhaust will give you 1 or 2 hp at the most.

The factory exhaust is very free flowing. People only upgrade it for looks, sound or if they have a blower/snail.

you could get them jethot coated, and i believe-not sure though-you will get more of a gain from a cl-p cause the cl-s is a more free flowing exhaust, but not like 15 hp. someone step in and bitch slap me if i'm wrong :troutslap

Take the money you were planning for an exhaust system and get a set of quality headers. The ones you have now will most definitely crack.

^^^ What he said.

The exhaust is really just for show and noise with the CL. If mine didn't come with Comptechs, I would have stuck with stock.

Those headers look really shitty, i would concur with mrsteve and say you should spend your money on some comptech headers before anything else.

I am not planning on getting an exhaust at all. I was just wondering what the gains would be from the mods i have now.

You really think these headers are that bad? I didn't realize I should be that worried about them.

to get that jet hot coating shit wouldnt i have to remove the headers and have them reinstalled. That would be a major pain in the ass and in that case I would definitely just buy some quality ones instead.

jet hot will keep them looking new all the time, and yes you would have to uninstall/reinstall. you could have it done on the new one though prior to install

Getting those obx headers coated is going to cost as much as the headers costs themselves, if comptech isnt in the budget right now, maybe get some alphawerks headers, they are like 300-500 bucks on ebay.

$150

You can talk to me when you're ready and I'll do them.

Thats the price of the very few cheap shops. Most would probably want around $200 in this area.

Jet Hot is the company that does the coating. They use a special compound that keeps the heat inside the tubing. THis keeps the temp in the engine bay down.

Would it be better to buy a brand new set of alphawerks or try to find a used set of comptech headers...
