Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington, DC...Want to work there?

A friend of mine has 3 positions available to help set up the Television Equipment and assist the crew with work during the race that weekend. Interested parties will make $175 a day for 5 days. The schedule is from Wednesday July 17th through Sunday July 21st. PM me if you want the work ASAP!!!!!!

BTW, they feed you and you have full access to the WHOLE RACE AREA THOSE 5 DAYS!!!!!!! Great for pictures, gear, meeting the drivers, seeing the cars, possibly running on the track - when no one is around, and getting free racing paraphenalia.

PM me your name, telephone number and I'll get you on the roster as soon as I can, the sooner you get to me, the better your chances of working there. Great for the lazy college student to earn some mod money before school starts!

I am clearing that up now. Most of the time, its based on a 10 hour day, and yes there is overtime after 10 hours.

No you don't have to be buffed and yes it is a paid position, no volunteering involved.

Need 3 guys, anyone? Beuler? Anyone want Beuler's job?

Pretty much it's set up work. You help the Camera guys set thier cameras up, move the equipment into positions, help run cables to the equipment from the production truck, help the audio guys set up their microphones, run their cables back to the truck, and when the show is over, you help them pack up their gear and take it back to the truck.

During the event/race, you help out as needed, become a runner or gopher. Say like if its a really hot day, make sure the guys have plenty of water - well, not really, that would make them go to the bathroom alot, so just make sure they have it if they want it. maybe run back and forth to the pits, press tent and track to pick up information. Maybe assist them if something goes wrong with the production, that rarely happens - most of these guys are pros and have done these races before. Mostly though, you just stand around in a comfortable spot and watch the race until they call you on the radio if they need you. It isn't hard work, just compiled in the setup and tear down of the show.

I might be able to work during the week, but not the weekend, is that possible?

edit-
I might have to be up in Baltimore to sign some papers and whatever else for the military though, so I am not sure I can do this. I don't want to leave you hanging so nevermind.

Well, I got a PM saying you are "on the rostor to work" but he never called back to follow up on what I should wear, my schedule, parking, etc. I hope everything is ok -- his last post was the 14th. Anyone have a contact number for him?

Sorry about that guys.

I was on an assignment in Atlanta and couldn't access the internet like I wanted to, so I had to wait until I got home tonight.

Thanks Rick for posting that for me.

Here is the latest,

I have the spots filled, and I have everyones info in case they decide to add more folks, which I hope they do. I would love to have the additional folks who inquired about the gig to be there and get paid as well.

Directions to the course are easy.

Take I-95 to exit #22, which is Baltimore Washington Parkway and head South towards RFK stadium, and exit off onto East Capital Street. Proceed about 1/2mile and bear to your right, you can't miss the race course if you were blind at this point.

From Virginia:

Take I-95 towards the Woodrow Wilson Bridge, and take exit #2 marked Washington. Proceed North about 9 miles and take Pennsylvania Avenue West towards Washington. Proceed another few blocks and turn right up 12th Street. Go about 1/2 mile to East Capitol Street, and make another right, and at this point, you should see RFK in front of you. Drive until you get to RFK and go around the circle to the other side and you should see the race course.

At this point, look for a giant Tractor Trailer that isn't decorated, that's the TV truck! The Racers, all have their rigs painted and have designs on them, most TV trucks don't.

Have fun, and I hope to see you guys there.
