Cabin Filter

If you have not done this you must soon. I was shocked how much shit was piled up in the old filters. I replaced them in less than 30 minutes. I have to say the air even blows harder than bwfore. Because the slow down was gradual I didn't even notice it. My car only has 52,000 on it and the filters were horrible. I can honestly say that if my K&N filter was that dirty I think the car wouldn't start.

101k...haven't done it yet...

Guess I might pull something black then!

I just turned 101k this weekend and was thinking about it since I'm about to go through a maintenance/upgrade phase now that all the warranties are out...

I cost me roughly $20 ordering the filters from www.overnightautoparts.com (you will need 2 of them)

It was really very simple. You remove your glove box door first. Then you will notice a thin piece of plastive with holes and preferations in it. I did not want to take the time to remove the side of the center console so I just just away the area that was in the way (cleanly). You will see the filter door right in the center of the area below the glove box. The whole project took about 15 minutes. If you do a search on this site you will find step by step directions with pictures.

I already looked 'em up, but I've got a Helms service manual too...

I just changed mine for the second time. I waited because I couldn't remember where I bought the first ones for a good price. Finally I checked witha nearby Advance Auto Parts and they had the Purolator set of 2 for $18. That's not for each one, that's for the PAIR.

Hmm, I haven't changed mine yet, and I have 38k miles on the car.

Michigan doesn't exactly have clean air, either.
