Buy or Not
Hello Friends,
I saw a 2001 Acura 3.2 CLS for sale. Its a Taffeita White Automatic Transmission with 160+ KMS. I want to know if you think its a good buy and if this car belongs to the FORUMS, please let me know. I am not in a very good position to buy a very expensive CLS but I hope FORUM will help me make a good decision. Here is a link please check it out and reply asap

That car is probably not on the forums.
If you are interested in that car:
-Make sure the 105k service has been done. If not, it will cost you about 800 dollars to do it. Keep in mind that you will need to do that service again at the 210k mark.
-A new transmission could be right around the corner. You have an option to rebuild or drop in a different transmission. Both could cost from 1k-4k depending on what you do and where you go.
-Don't let the navigation system, chrome wheels, subs or aftermarket radio sway your purchase.
-Make sure it has a clean title for that price with those miles.
-Be mindful of rock chips, dents and dings. There's no doubt that cars with higher mileage will have more of these paint problems. Make sure the clear coat looks good and there's no rust.
I'd personally pass on the car with such high miles but if your looking for a CL, then it's your money. If your on a tight budget, be sure that you have the money to drop on a transmission in the future. This is a matter of when not if.

if you're asking for honest advice, don't spend the money unless you buy a 6 speed model. The automatic tranny is a widely known problem and I wouldn't spend a dime on it, unless you have $3-4K more to do a transmission swap once your automatic dies.
