I've burnt myself on my seats already a few times this year...but I know the worse has yet to come. I've had a 6 pack explode in my car, pens rupture. Plastic dash pieces start to warp....gotta love the Arizona heat.

Have literally seen 1st degree skin burns off black leather/vinyl at work (local hospital) . I've NEVER owned a black leather interior until now, but the second thing I did was get the best tint job I could find in Greenville. Hopefully, GM's reputation for at least getting the A/C right will hold up .

And San Antonio was worse, when I did my clinical down there (literally, from June until October ). Nothing like walking out in the afternoon to a car that's been baking at 115+ degrees all day. Car at the time was an '86 Accord LXi hatch. Texans will nod sympathetically, but tint AND ventvisors (to prevent glass from exploding when opening door) AND air conditioning only helped marginally.

It gets hot out here in Cali too, but we don't get the humidity. It gets up to 112 here in Fresno, sometimes a tad more, but that's rare.... Anyone here from Baker, Ca (doubtful since their population is only triple figures). Baker hits the 120's on a regular basis during the summer. OUCH!

I'm up in Sonoma County, we get a couple of weeks of 100+ but we always get the nice ocean breeze later in the day. Spend most of my time at work in San Francisco (gotta love the fog) where it is pretty much a cold summer. When I'm out at a place with no covered parking or a garage I always use my car cover on hot days. Works well at keeping the car cool on hot days.

Alex123, I agree, I lived in Houston for two years and it was way hot. I'll never forget it, 33 days in a row over 95 degrees with no rain. On the 34th day it rained. The radio station started playing the Who's "Love Reign o'er me" Yeah it's hot there--too HOT!

Heeheehee, poor bambinos and their burned bumbs. Oh how you guys suffer in those warm climes. Yes I'm truly "pained" by you (snowless) guys having such weather related problems that I just may leave the "to cold to wash" winter crud all over my car's glass so that it acts like tint when the temps up here get way up there into those high 60's. Oh the pathos of those "suffering" in those awful weather places like Va, Fl, Tx, and lest we forget, Az and Ca.

Couldn't resist.

Another good thing about parchment instead of ebony. Not that the parchment can't get hot but it won't absorb the heat like the ebony will.

I've been very tempted to go out and buy a CLS. If you had your CLS last summer or have it in a hot area, how does the a/c perform? I like pretty much everything else about the car, but want to make sure it provides effective releif against DC metro sauna summers.

My other problem is waiting for our company to report earnings, so I can see if I can comfortably afford the car w/o worrying about job loss.

I didn't get my car until December, but the AC's worked just fine with some of the hot days Miami's had so far, I don't think it'll be a problem in the summer either.

As usual PG&E has fucked California over again. They have what are called rolling blackouts, which mean there are 1-2 hour power outages in each power block (sometimes as many as 1,000,000 customers lose their power). it's not an everyday thing, yet... PG&E sold all their power plants awhile back and now we are all getting fucked by Independent power companies on charges because PG&E could not pay the IPO's & also filed bankruptcy to reorganize.
Some peoples power bill looks like a car payment!

I'm lucky, I live at work so if I'm not in the field I'm in my office where we have huge generators for our power when it's our turn to go to blackout.

I lived in war-torn city for 26 years. We did not call it rolling-black out, rather we call rollung-light-in we were lucky to get a electric power for 2-4 hr/24 hrs.

95% of the people own their own poratble or small power plants to light a building.

Oh Yeah the best were made by who other than Honda !

eh? its everyones good friend gray davis whos helped us so much........he could have prevented the entire thing. all his liberal regulations restricting power plants (for fear of accelerating global warming) kept edison and pg&e from making more plants.......thus no power crisis had they been free. (more power for everyone) also, once the crisis occurred, davis didnt do jack to help anything. blaming it on deregulation and corrupt corporations is a nice trick...........doesnt really work. some blame should go to the numnuts at PG&E.......but dont forget the other causes

Thinking about it. It looks like the meeting is at some unknown location near BWI. If I won't be shot dead on sight w/ an old toyota camry, I'll probably show
