Bulb for high beam

Is there a HID system that will work for replacment of my CLS's high beams?

I don't think anyone makes HID high beams. Like I said in the other post, the Catz Galaxy White bulbs should be a very close match to the HID low beams. They should also be brighter than the PIAAs.

The best match to our high beams are solaris 9006 high beams. When turned off they will give a nice blue reflection in the housing and when turned on it matches almost pefectly w/ the hid's. IMO the piaa's and other superwhites look too blue.

I could be wrong, but I thought the replacement bulbs were 9005s for the high beams. At least that's what www.autobulbdepot.com is listing them as.

yeah sorry don't really remember the exact number 9005 or 9006. but autocarparts is probably right. I've seen the solaris bulbs on JZ and Techniques ride and they looked awesome.

Currently in our area there are a bunch of shops that will convert your high beam 9005 or 9006 lo beam system to H.I.D.The conversion is relatively easy the parts cost is about 400 to 600 depending on the shop you choose.I have converted my own car to xenon low beams and may go xenon on the highs when money permits.Essentially you need to install the electronics (very easy). The tough part is taking apart the high beam bulb. What you need is 2 9005 hi beam bulbs and a lot of patience. You need to remove the glass and the connector from the plastic base.Once this is done a standard D2R xenon bulb is fitted to the plastic base and glued in,once this is done plug it in to the headlight. Plug in the bulb to the electronics and your done.It sounds alot harder than it really is,a Dremel moto tool will make short work of modifying the 9005 bulb. You only need to plug two wires into the car harness that originally powered up the 9005 high beam bulb.Jens

JZ and Technique help me out here, you guys have the solaris high's.

search on the net for the solaris lights.

And they are the closest match to our hids when turned on. more whiter than the piaa's and polarg, rayberg.

I got the PIAA Platinum Super White 9005 bulbs today and installed them. Obviously, they do not match the HID low beams but they blend in with them much better than the stock high beams. I don't think they look yellow at all. They don't look blue either. They are just white. I think they are noticeably brighter than the stock bulbs too. They may not be the best match to the HIDs but they are very good quality and I am happy with them. PIAA is a name that I trust.
