Brightest Xenon's

All H.I.D.'s are not equal. Audi's have bright Xenon's, but I think S2000's have the brightest H.I.D.'s I've ever seen. It's like staring into the sun.

Hard to tell from the pic. they all look the same. But when driving and seeing a passing Bimmer, Audi, or Acura, I think BMW's have the nicest IMO.

I have driven an S4, A6 and 330i at night over the past year, and I have to say they all illuminate about same amount as my CL-S.

The Audi's have a little more blue at the edges, (and the self leveling feature is very cool) but I can't say any is much better than the other. I love our headlights, and I feel they are probably one of the best features of our car

That reminds me, can I put a self leveling system on my car? I mean, I could rip out the entire system, and put in a whole new Xenon set up. So basically im asking, are there any aftermarket HID conversion kits that include auto leveling?

The only reason why audi, bmw's look brighter than ours, mercedes is because their projectors, just like the s2k.

All HID oem systems are pretty much the same.. color and beam pattern are dictated by the housing. In which case projectors are better for both. The reason CL/TL lights only come out the top half of the headlight is because the bottom of an HID bulb is where the yellow part of the light comes from. there is a shield in place to block out the botom part where the yellow is produced so you can get the HID color. on my Accord HID retro looks just like your HID except the bottom has trace amounts of yellow. I could install a shield but this would destroy the optics of my headlights. on OEM your headlights were designed to give you HID color plus the best beam pattern

On the turnpike yesterday I came head to head with a new five series with HID and the cool round day-time driving lights. I was comparing the beam pattern on both of our cars and it seems that the BMW's produced a much "whiter" and wider pattern on the ground. I couldn't tell if it was from the fogs on the BMW or not, but it definitely was better than my CL-S.

The best that I have driven was on a new BMW 5 series. Very good pattern and brightness. The auto-leveling is very nice as well. I'll bet that the new 7 series will have the best headlights.

I wouldn't be suprised if they were the same unit, the X5 is based on the 5 series.

I love to blind people on the road.. I am in San Francisco. I adjusted my Headlights so they aim a little higher than stock,After I adjusted my HID's When I go down the road where I live (It is a dark street) maybe about 2 out of 10 cars High beam me like would have my High beams on. I love it because I then high beam them back and they just back off realizing that my HID's are not my High Beams.

How did you install the bulbs, isn't "from what they say" dangerous to replace those bulbs if you don't know what they are all about. I went to the website you posted and I found 2 bulbs of the D2R's are they the one's with the 60000K for $175.00 orthe regular Xenon Discharge for $145.90. I think for your post it would be the 60000K one right?

dude, i paid someone to change my bulbs out for 15 bux at a local performance shop...i made him put on latex gloves to install...they never seen some shit like this and the dude has a tricked out turbo s2000...he swore his HID would be brighter but guess who got to leave w/o paying cuz I won the bet...anyways, you need a special type of bit to take off the star headed screw and then its easy from there...there is a metal clip that holds on the HID bulb, if that falls in the engin you will be looking for it for a while... it took him 2 hours to install cuz he kept on losing grip of the clip...i gave him a 10 dollar tip tho...if you are anal, do it your self you can do it...if you want them in and dont wanna get dirty get a pro to do it...but beware they are 350, so i wouldnt let any asshole touch them only someone you can trust...Shyne

The 6000K HID bulbs are STREET ILLEGAL across all fifty states. They are not DOT approved and they are to be used for OFF-ROAD USE ONLY.

Not that cops can really tell the difference, if they can, you can get a ticket for that.

Again, THEY ARE NOT DOT APPROVED for use on STREET.
