x2, somewher right around there

btw: if you want some bright suckers, they make some 70 watt (twice the power of oem) hid kits now, if the housing/wiring can stand up to the heat produced by them

actually got my old ballest right in front of me (at least on a tl-s) and it says "output voltage, power : 85V, 34W"

and here is that 70w kit i saw:
http://www.dxhid.com/70wattxenon.htm

i know you just wanted bulbs, but thought i just mention a higher wattage kit if you really wanted to be able to see

and like said before, it is more then likely that every picks up colors slightly different, so it is proably somewhere around 4300 to 5000k that is the brightest

4300k puts out the most lumens. 5000k is closest to white. Anything higher is just color.

Dont run 55w ballasts. You will melt your housings. Hell, 55w kits melt some metal projectors. They got hot. Stick with 35w.

If youve seen my pictures of my retrofit, Im running 4300k Phillips bulbs. Remember when you buy new bulbs, they will take a few hours before they color shift, so if you buy 5000k bulbs, they will look more like 4300k for awhile. You probably know that though.

And the pic of the IS300 is 8000k?? Are you sure? 8000k has no yellow, just blue. Those look like 3000k.

4300K will give you the whitest and brightest output, 5000 or 6000 will be blue, 3000K will be yellow

This is True But im not putting those KC lights on my car it would look like shit. my HID fogs are really good. but those 30k hids are horrible and I didnt relize it untilll the snow storm.

I knew every one was goin to say 4300k are the best I was just wondering if there were some differning opions on it but I think 3k lights are going to be the best Im not going to say they are but I will take pics when I get them

BTW of my older cars jeep grand cherokee limted 5.2L Had 4 kc lights on the top and three on the grille gaurd that was the ultimate snow meachine

I was out just out and seen a f 150 with 3k headlights. It looked like he was trying to hard to have some wow affect.
He had yellow headlight, orange parking lights and some kind of hid looking fogs.
I would say he's probally going to get a ticket first officer he drives by.
When he was driving at me it looked cool,I was thinking what the hell was that.(good)
Then when we were driving by each other I was like what the hell was that.(bad)
It looked like a dam spaceship.

3k's look good for high's or fog's

This...
What makes some appear to be brighter is the housing/lenses. Some are made better to direct the light.

The more kelvin (color) the less lumen (light output). 3000k is not sufficient for light output for low beams since it has a yellowish color. Yellow is good for cutting through fog but it's not good for long range light output. 4300k emits the most light; we have had great success with KAIXEN 5000K (natural white) and 6000K (extreme white with a tint of blue). Since the light is whiter is also appears brighter.

Simply put 4300 will give you the most usable light there is.

well I just installed HID high beams (6k) they do seam do be better than my headlights (3k) and definitely better than my fogs (30k) but I think im going to be sticking with the 3k bulbs in the headlights for the winter at least because It does seem to snow a lot in Ottawa Canada and they seem to work very well but in the summer im going to go with 6k headlight 6k high beams and 3k fogs
