I'm not aware of any recalls for my size tires, my mechaninc would have let me know.

Potenza's RE730's make great skins for my Z.
The donut marks in my local parking lot are proof to that.

Hell, they were just rated as best tires by someone--I can't imagine that would be the case if they were being recalled. And, they've been around for a pretty long time.

I don't know about the RE730, however, Audi is voluntarily recalling the RE040 size 225/45 ZR 17's for S4's and TT's. Audi even mentions in their recall letter that the sidewalls will bulge upon hitting potholes, curbs etc. and Audi considered this dangerous and thus the recall. Audi was even reimbursing owners who had already replaced these RE0 040's out of pocket.

Enter my IS300 which has the exact same tires from bridgestone, the RE 040's however the size on my ride is 215/45 ZR 17 and when I speak to my friendly Lexus dealer and Lexus customer service, "Uh we never heard of such a recall and since your tires are warranted by the tire manufacturer, Bridgestone, please contact an authorized Bridgestone dealer, have a nice day!"

When I spoke to the Bridgestone dealer: "Uh, your tires are safe, if you have any issues go speak to your Lexus dealer since your car is so new, have a nice day!"

Well needless to say no recall for Lexus owners, only Audi is doing a voluntary recall. I don't know about the RE 730's however considering Bridgestone and Firestone are the same company, I won't be surprised if all of this gets swept under the rug until a whole bunch of IS300 owners and Cl-S owners end up dead like the explorer owners.

I looked over in the Audi forum and there were a number of people putting Yokos on in lie of the RE-40s. The stock re40s were popping bulges right and left, so people just got tired of it and started getting different tires.

I had very good luck with RE-71s -- two sets, and they were perfect. However, these purchases were made BEFORE the FIRESTONE debacle.

The RE-730s get good reviews, but if they get the same supervisors that allowed substandard materials to be used, then they could have problems. This is a high speed car. I'm sure they work well if they are made well, that is the question. Here is the link to the Bridgestone page, call them if you have the tires, there should be a tire code on the tire that would let you know if you're involved.

There are a number of NON suv tires that are getting a recall, check the site, or the number:

BTW -- I love the Toyos and this is the first I have heard about any re-730 problems
