breather line question

i just got the ice box, and 99% of the install went perfectly smooth. Once i got to the whole breather line thing i got a little frustrated. I took off that whole stock assembly and the hose that comptech provided was to short and when i put it on there was a kink in the hose and the enige sounded like death. i was wondering if instead of buying a new hose i could just buy one of those little breather filter thingys and just put that on the bottom of the ice box and in place of the old breather line. p.s. in my search i found out that somone had the same problem of the hose being to short so if any one knows how that turned out let me know thx.

My crankcase line was fine. If I were you, just run down and buy a longer one if you need to. SHould be just a few bucks.

You could add one of those filter things to the end of the hose but you would also have to plug the hole in the intake inlet where the hose is supposed to connect. Shouldn't be a problem but the filter element will get dirty. Only issue will be passing a smog check if your state is strict - won't pass visual.
