Brand New M3
Brand New M3
So last night on my way home from Hempstead, i stop off at a hangout spot in my town and i see my friend with his 02 M3 with that gay little SMG transmission. So i was like allright you wanna go, for the hell of it. I figured he was gonna kill me but what the hell. So we go to a 7-800 foot strip and line up. He had 2 kids in his car and it was just me. So our friend flags us off and we go, i get the jump being i have a stick and then he fucks up in shifting his little smg(its a fake stick) so i won that one. He's like lets go again i was like ok, we go again and he doesn't fuck up....but yet i still win.....so i'm all excited now i just smoked a brand new m3 twice all our boys are like shocked....so he gets his 2 friends out of his car and we go one last time. He gets the better start with no spinning and i spin unlike the other two runs and i kid you not my front bumper was at the front of his door. this story sounds far-fetched but i swear on my car and whatever else possible to swear on. I was just as shocked as he was that i got him twice and he got me once.....just sharing my stories
Good Kill!! And on an M3 nonetheless!
I wonder if he broke in the car yet. Also, do you know if he used the SMGII's "accelerometer" feature? For those of you that don't know, when engaged, it automatically rev limits the car up to 3500rpm and drops its clutch for a quick take off. But yea, according to BMW, you're only allowed one of these an hour and 30 within the lifespan of the tranny. I think that's weaksauce.
But yea, over on the M3 forums, quite a few people have had problems with their SMGII system. BTW, its not "fake stick"; just a different form. A clutchless manual system.

I thought that it was understood when someone says they beat a car, that they beat the driver as well. I didn't feel the need to point out the obvious.

most likely, but then again this douchebag also had an automatic mustang which i've beaten before numerous times. So he just can't drive in general.

With the SMG it makes misshifting a thing of the past. With that said, how exactly did he fucked up a shift? What did he do? Downshift instead of upshifting? Which would be impossible because the SMG wont allow a redline downshift.
Not to doubt you but your friend has to be the worst driver in the world to loose to a mid 14 sec car.
In any event, nice kill

No. That is not available in the U.S. it's a Euro option only.
Lots of SMG's already out in the U.S. Yes, he would have to be quite the bad driver for that result. Then again, whenever a car like the M3 comes out, lots of bad drivers with money buy them.
I have been in an M3 on the track and they are just beasts. Way more lowend than people think they have and a huge powerband.

However, it only revs up to 2k in the US and 3500 in the euro.
