brakes question... mushy / late to engage
My car was in the body shop for over 30 days (don't ask) and now that I have it back my brakes feel like they are kinda mushy (no resistance) and engage late (pedal is half way down before I feel the car slowing at all).
Now, this could be because I was driving another car for 30 days and forgot how my car brakes felt (are the CL stock brakes like that ??) or maybe its related to the repair.
The damage was done to the front driver side wheel and suspension, and the impact did cause the brake line to come loose from where it connects to the calipers (it was dripping brake fluid).
So what do you guys think? Did I just forget what the CL brakes normally feel like or is it possible something needs to be adjusted after the repair?

Adventurist.
You have air in your system or a broken line.
Hopefully it is not the latter as that is very dangerous (so is the 1st)
Visually check all lines. Replace and bleed system.

Thanks for the advice, you are right it must be air in the lines. It does feel kinda dangerous... I go to hit the brakes and the car doesn't slow down right away.
I checked the brake fluid and its brand new so they definitely did some work on the lines.
As far as what happened.... well it didn't seem *that* bad at the time, but turned out pretty significant.
I was taking a turn too fast for the weather conditions and the car understeered (really hard) into a 6" concrete curb/divider.
The stock rim cracked in half and bent the suspension all up (toe in and pushed back twoard the car)
The reason it took so long is because my insurance company was being lazy and kinda cheap, constantly arguing with the shop regarding cost of additional repairs, etc.

any update on this? I was having the same problem ever since i replaced my rotors/pads. I ended up bleeding the brakes a few weeks afterwards hoping that would fix it, and although the braking is a little better and there was air in the lines, the pedal feel is still too soft and late to engage.
