Brake Pads
Hey everyone, My car is fastly approaching 50k miles and my brakes are going pretty bad. I feel heavy vibrations and I know i might need the rotors resurfaced. But my brake pads have been shot and never been replaced so thats where you guys come in.
Does anyone recommend any brake pads or what do you guys think I should do. I do wish i could get the brembos but that is outta my price range since i am saving up for my house since I will be closing in about 2 months. Thanks for your help

Save the money from cutting the rotors and get the new Brembo rotors from Tirerack for $50 each. As for the pads, you DON'T want any of those high performace hard pads. They would only eat up the rotors faster. Try PBR deluxe pads they are easy on the rotors and brake very well. Many Bimmer owners use them also.

Axxis Ultimate's or EBC Greenstuff from tirerack.com or brakewarehouse.com should be great. And yes, just replace the rotors with oem Brembo replacements from Tirerack.

I was looking to buy new pads and rotors too since I have pulsations at freeway speeds, 30k miles. Was gonna buy the more expensive slotted/corss drilled Brembos for 300, but I think I should save the money and just buy the plain Brembos.

50 dollars each at TireRack will get you a pair of the Brembos blanks. Yours is still a good deal because you're getting slotted which will cool faster plus you get pads too. Heck, anything is better than stock Acura rotors, or my name aint Bubba Chong.

Genuine Acura factory pads. This is the first car I have had that has NEVER had any issues with brake pad dust. But that could be due to my extremely slick Goodrich powder coated black pearl chrome wheels. Dunno.

You guys with "brake dust issues" obviously don't wash your car twice a day!
Seriously, I've gone through alot of rotors and pads in my days (track days that is) and I've spent a lot of money on them too. I would cast a vote for the Brembo rotors (no need to cross drill or slot for the street ulness you just want it for show) from the tire rack. I would make a wise crack here about show and go, but I guess it would be show and stop in this thread - ha ha. OK, I'll keep my mouth shut (and just use my keyboard)! As far as pads go, the best all around that I have found are from Acura.
