Brake Pads

Not the most exciting topic, but has anyone replaced the stock brake pads? Is it best to use factory or aftermarket? I would like to do the replacement myself, but wonder what other people have discovered.

By the way, I would echo what others have said - Fresh Mobil 1, filter and a good quality injector cleaner really wakes up the engine! :shakehd:

I just received my Porterfield Hot Street brake pads (from autocarparts). I'll be doing a review post after i get them installed.

i also considered Zeal, Metal Master, AEM, etc... after doing alot of research i settled on the Porterfields as I have heard only good things about them.

brake pads

Dave,

I own a 1998 cl and I recently had a friend of mine who knows how to replace brakes, replace mine with some aftermarket brake pads. The first few weeks were fine, but after some time I noticed that the brake pads apparently had warped the rotors. The guy who changed them found that the brakes pads need to be installed according to a certain specification recomended by Acura. He didn't do that, so I need to get the rotors cut and the brakes re-adjusted to specs. I do not know if that is exactly true, but before you get them changed, you might want to look into this.
