All brake fluid is generally the same price. You can get ATE Super Blue, Motul, or Motul Gold. I use a Motul DOT 5.1 in my car.

I bled the brake fluid in my '02-TLS and replaced with Vavoline Synthetic. It is Dot3 & Dot4 compatable and easy to find.

Do you first completely bleed the lines, and then replace with new fluid, or do you slowly add new as you are in the process of bleeding the old?

Motul 600 is compatible with our brake systems... it's a higher temp brake fluid...

BTW, are you going to install SS brake lines?

Motul Dot 5.1 would work. I have Motul Dot5.1 in my accord and it works great and i'm sure that the CL's brake system is the same (except for some minor differences). Dot 5.1 is a non-silicon based fluid. Not to be confused with Dot 5.0 (silicon based fluid).

Uhhh.... 5.1 is compatible with 3 & 4. I think you're mistaken with DOT 5, which is NOT.

If I did something wrong, I'm sure my car would not be working right now.

You never mix old and new fluid together. You completely remove the old fluid and then add the new. You will have air in your system, so you have to be completely sure you bleed it all out. It usually takes about 2 liters of brake fluid to flush a system out.

I never remove the old fluid, just start bleeding and keep filling the master cylinder. When the fluid turns clear, you'll know that the old fluid are out.

Is this acceptable/practical?
