Bought 01 CLS and Park Avenue Acura experience

About a month ago, I purchased a silver 01 CLS with 30K miles on it w/ spoiler from a private party. My previous car was a 97 Audi A4 1.8T Quattro which I drove over 107K miles. I changed the car because the turbo was dying and it would cost too much money to maintain the car. Also my experience at Paul Miller Audi was dissapointing. They will charge $60 for simple oil change and they are very arrogant.

The previous owner of my Acura only drove 30K miles over 41 months and the car is in excellent condition. I drove over 1600 miles in 1 month already. One bad thing I noticed was really bad pulsations from the brakes. So I made appintment at Park Avenue Acrua (after reading all your positive comments). Last week, I took the car there and told them about the brakes and asked them to perform other maintenance work. Next day, my car was ready as promised. They replaced the front rotors and pads. The best thing about PAA is that everyone there is very courteous and friendly. Now I know why PAA is the best! Every dealer should learn from them.

Thank to them, I also enjoyed driving a Ford Focus as a loaner. Driving that car made me realize how much superior the Audis/Acuras are. That's why these cars cost twice as much.

Tomorrow, I am replacing the tires with Pirelli PZero Nero M&S (235/45/17) ordered from Tirerack at $127. I will let you know how these are compared to the bubbled Micheline factory tires.

Congrats and welcome, too.

An aside --- Interesting you also had bubbled stock Michelin MXM4s. Mine bubbled at 10K miles and I therefore had them replaced.

Perusing these forums and others shows that this tire has an unusually high bubbling rate. I wrote letters to Acura/Honda of America and Michelin and filed my complaint about this tire with the NHTSB. I know that tire issues are small in the big scheme of things - most people just replace them with better tires anyway. I myself am concerned that Michelin continues to manufacture a tire with such a high failure rate, and is allowed to have these tires mounted on passenger cars.

If you have the time, I'd encourage you to send a complaint to the appropriate recipients.

honestly, service make me spend my money, not the price of things. Anybody who runs a business knows this.

Michelin is a French company and as with most European products their tires, although high quality, are overpriced (~ $160 apiece for 215/50-17 MXM4). That's why I won't buy Michelins. BTW: Boycotting French products makes a lot more sense than eating "freedom fries".

My concern was with their quality, not their price.

Bubbling is all too common for the MXM4 -- this is a safety issue that should be rectified.

I'm not buying another Michelin product until they reply to me about this issue. I'm still waiting -- it's been about 9 months.
