both boot kits ripped

I was on a long stretch of hwy and decided to see how high i can get the speed odometer to go up to. I was bouncing off 153 in 4th i think it was. I thought the top speed was 147. When i got home i noticed my wheels. tires. and wheel wells were covered in black grease. I could not figure out what the hell happened so i jacked it up to find both outer cv boots ripped up pretty bad. So now i am paying the price for doing that. I guess its better then getting caught.

The boots were likely already trashed & the high rate of speed caused the tears to increase. They would have failed eventually.
And top speed is where fuel cutoff is. So if your approaching 150 & feel the fuel cut off that's the point. Tires size, & speedo accuracy have a roll of what speed is indicated at fuel cut off.

You may want to think twice before doing that again.

I 110% agree is was a dumb move, all most did not post because of it. I thought it was interesting how both boots went tho. I drove the car for a couple hours after the boots blew and did not know that and the question is how close to failure you think my cv joints are? I mean all the grease is gone they have to be screwed up pretty bad. I parked the car until Monday when i can fix it.

The CV joints are probably fine. You just need to put on new CV boots.
