Pillar

They don't make a pillar for this car... and the Accord one was back-ordered. So, slyraskal told me that the Integra one was pretty close... so I got that and heated it, cut it, moulded it, painted it and installed it.

Yes... I am fabricating a custom turbo kit... should be done in two weeks. I am finishing everything else before starting the manifold and intercooler piping. It got delayed because I was having fuel issues, but I think that should be resolved by today.

I really don't think there is a point in having a boost guage without a turbo or S/C!

The HKS guage does look nice... but I am slightly on a budget here and this project has gotten very expensive already!

Trust me... I am looking forward to it myself. I just wanted to do it correctly the first-time... not having to rethink or refab anything. There are a lot of extras I could get for better tuning and more boost... but that will have to wait.

I just picked up some NGK BCPR7ES-11's. They will do.

I am taking a lot of precautions for anti-detonation/pre-ignition.

(1) Intercooler
(2) Mugen T-Stat / Fan Switch
(3) Water-Wetter
(4) Colder plugs

Thanks... hope the damn thing runs right!

Scalbert: I picked up the B&M Regulator/Modifier gadget... will install it today and try it out. By the way, they also sell a $30 fuel-pressure guage (to 100psi). It is supposed to bolt onto the fuel-filter in the integra, civic, etc. but I will try to mount it to that mount where the regulator and the fuel hoses come together.

Will keep you posted.

Definitely let me know how that B&M unit goes. This thing is moving along well; now the really fun stuff is about to begin...

B&M

So after installing the fuel pressure guage... my fuel pressure at idle (no vacuum) was a hefty 65 psi!! So... I put the B&M unit on and it did not change... even adjusted to the lowest setting. It does go higher though! So... the culprit is the damn Vortech FMU. I removed it and now its a nice 44psi and adjustable via the B&M unit.

I e-mailed Vortech to see if this is a 'normal' thing for the base-line fuel-pressure to jump so much without any boost.

We'll have to find out I suppose.

Wow 65 psi is alot at idle; no wonder the ECU threw a code quickly. Let us know what Vortech comes back with as that doesn't sound right. It is certainly clamping off flow...

Performance

One thing though... with the fuel-pressure back at 45 psi... power up in the 5.5K to 7K rpm band does suffer. There is a BIG increase in power up there when my fuel-pressure is higher.

Either way... something is screwed up and needs to be fixed!

Did u disconect the A-Pillar airbags before installing that boost gauge and pillar pod?

It would really suck to get into a real mild fender bender and have to go to the hospital to have a boost gauge removed from ur skull :P .
