Nothing yet, but they're still calling for it......
The car is probably going to be a huge BLOCK OF ICE when I go out after work.

************************************************** *

Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service

...BERKS PA-LEHIGH PA-MORRIS NJ-NORTHAMPTON PA-WARREN NJ-
...WINTER STORM WARNING THROUGH TONIGHT...

FREEZING RAIN WILL DEVELOP BY MID MORNING AND CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT...WITH ICE ACCUMULATION OF ONE QUARTER TO AROUND ONE HALF INCH. PRECIPITATION WILL END BY DAYBREAK THURSDAY.

SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES AND DOWNED TREE LIMBS ARE POSSIBLE. TRAVEL IS NOT RECOMMENDED...AS ROADS AND WALKWAYS WILL BECOME SLIPPERY AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.

IN CASE OF A POWER OUTAGE...HAVE AN ALTERNATE HEAT SOURCE READY THAT CAN BE SAFELY USED INDOORS. KEEP ALTERNATE HEAT SOURCES AWAY FROM FURNISHINGS...DRAPES...AND FLAMMABLE OBJECTS...AND PROVIDE ADEQUATE VENTILATION.

IF YOU MUST TRAVEL OUTDOORS...ALLOW YOURSELF EXTRA TIME FOR DELAYS. TEST ROAD SURFACES CAREFULLY BY GENTLY APPLYING THE BRAKES TO FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH THE EXTENT OF ICY CONDITIONS. MANUALLY PUMP BRAKES OR ALLOW THE VEHICLE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM TO WORK.

Down here in sunny FLA, we've had 7 inches of rain in the last 2 days...................but no snow or ice. I feel for you though....7 years in Maine. Ugh!

Care to share your forecasting secrets? All the short term computer models including the RUC are calling for the nasty stuff.

Just curious to your statement, that's all.

I just went up on the second floor and glanced out the window at my car.
It looks like just rain falling, but the car has a white “frosty topping” on it.

NOT GOOD !!!!

I had no problem, but I’m on overtime so I’m starting at 6AM.
It wasn’t even raining yet at that time.

The ride home is looking to SUCK-BALLS though.

I wish I had a camera at work.
When I went outside my car was covered with HUNDREDS of icicles and it looked like it was anchored to the ground.
Every panel had icicles leading from the body down to the ground every two inches or so.
At least a ˝-inch thick coating easy.

Not too bad driving home.
The roads through town were mostly wet or “slushy”.
The last four or five miles through the hills were the only trouble spots because they don’t see much traffic.
I saw two cars that slid off the road, but no one was nearby so I kept going.

Tomorrow morning will be tough again.
