Bleeding clutch

Bleeding clutch

Replacing the clutch line with a SS 1 & bypassing the CDD. The service manual seems straight forward on clutch bleeding. Anything I need to watch out for? Can 1 person do this? Do I even need to bleed it?

i'm thinking of bleeding the clutch myself also since it turned soft as hell.

they recommend 2 ppl. google it. i briefly read up on it and it said not to press on the clutch fast.. but slowly. and to always have clutch fluid.

I used a handheld vacuum pump to bleed out mine when I performed this mod. Just keep an eye on the clutch master cylinder fluid level. It took me about 5 minutes and surprisingly, I had air in the system as a result of the stainless line replacement. After all was buttoned up, started the car and slowly went through all the gears.

I personally found the feel of the clutch pedel engagement was a little stiffer. YMMV

it's easy and you just need yourself for the bleed. Go to a auto store and get a brake bleed kit, or use a jar and a piece of vacuum hose. You attach the hose to the bleeder on the slave cylinder, run the hose into the jar, fill the jar enough to cover the hose, and pump away. Make sure you keep the clutch master cylinder full at all times so it doesn't suck air. Just watch the jar while pumping and when you see no more air bubbles, your done.

Or the HNC-007 The 04+ TL line will work as well.

i'm doing the 6spd swap on my 00 TL. if i get SS clutch lines will that be all i need for clutch piping?

fuzzy i recommend doing both CDD deletes at the same time. there is one in the slave cylinder.. will save you from having to bleed more than once

pedal does not return like the brakes sorta do.. that's about all you have to look out for. and the fill reservoir is smaller and so you need to check on it more often than you would for brakes
